  1. I believe that's what they think they are doing. How many of the leaving players are actually bad for the team is up to debate, as some of them had great character.
  2. Come on. Let us enjoy it while it lasts. For a few days, at least, we can the Zips are a top-ten calibre team. Now, next season we might be able to say that all season long and not be lying once our secret weapons join the team.
  3. One name comes to mind: JD Brookhart.
  4. You can tell he's agitated enough having to do the ZipsLive interviews, even with all the questions pre-selected by the university. He seriously sounds like he's ready to have an aneurysm. I think if he actually had to deal with the 1350 afternoon guys in a more open environment he'd actually punch someone.
  5. Back to the original topic, Zakuani to train with Everton in the MLS off-season.
  6. Almost all of those types of players are graduating. In fact, we lose almost everything of what little talent and ability we had to graduation. Next year will be much, much worse.
  7. In bold is what I really want to know. I'm at the point where I really don't care what they do to correct it as long as it gets fixed. I'm done paying attention enough to think about what they are doing to fix it. I will continue to pay attention from a distance and care about the results in terms of Ws and Ls. I'll get excited again when I actually see more results and less of a building process. 25 years of a building process is all I can take....I really mean this, I don't know how some of you pull youselves up to go to a game at this point. The answer to what they are trying to do appears to be removing bad elements from the team. Addition by subtraction. That's what they're doing. It takes longer to pay off than other methods because it takes time to find replacements and until you do you're stuck with no depth and barely enough players to run an effective practice. So, I guess i don't know the answer to CK's question. But i do know that it takes time, which is something we never had in the environment of a new stadium and massive debt.
  8. New offer: DE Keevon Newsome
  9. Thanks for the heads up. I'll update the list at the beginning of the thread.
  10. SOS is tops because our two opponents have one loss between them. Cleveland State is 4-0, so a win there improves the numbers even more. Our upcoming schedule is actually pretty good.
  11. I think they had to find funding for building the bridge next. Not sure what the timetable for it was. A majority of the funding was coming from the Department of Defense (or maybe it was DARPA?). I think the timetable was supposed to really pick up next year. There needs to be modifications made to both sides of the tracks before the actual bridge can be built.
  12. A lot of those were stoppable. Went right past the keepers. They tell you to aim for the corners. Easier said than done, but that set would be much more interesting with some of the better keepers in there.
  13. Watch PKs here.
  14. SMU/Creighton going to PKs. Lots of PK shootouts in this round of the playoffs.
  15. Apparently whatever keeps us coming back isn't enough to get anyone else to do the same.
  16. The cheerleaders & dance team.
  17. You guys are much improved, but lack the experience to close out those barn-burners. I hope you win lots of games this year. If the Zips want to beat CSU, they'll need to play with the effort shown against Dayton. Playing so lackadaisical like tonight won't cut it. BTW, can the Rowdies please start some MVP chants for McClanahan? i'm guessing that was a jab at McClanahan in the postgame? Maybe.

  19. TE Austin Traylor verbals to Wisconsin
  20. I have to complain about our crowd. What a bunch of boring old people. Did we open a retirement home on campus? Are those blue plastic chairs so comfortable that nobody wants to stand up with the game on the line? Come on. No noise outside the student section (which was halved thanks to the band deciding to take over an entire side), and even the students find it hard to keep up the noise when every little sound dies the moment it hits the reserved section. It's like the quietness presses in on you, like you get the feeling that making noise is frowned upon and it takes the students' momentum away.
  21. That was one of the worst defensive games I've ever seen the Zips play. We're lucky we were able to win playing as poor as we did. Players out of position on every defensive possession and running the stand-around offense won't win many games.
  22. Yes. They could have at least provided a warning that they were going to double in size and then kick out about 75 Rowdies from sitting down below. If their job is to fire up the crowd then they need to move closer to the part of the crowd that actually needs firing up, not next to the group that would make noise regardless of the band's proximity.
  23. The odds of us either running the punt back for a TD or converting a Hail Mary were much higher than that call getting overturned. It was an incredibly obvious fumble.
  24. Seems like Conyers needs to find a team that doesn't have Nate Linhart anywhere near it in order to succeed. Let's hope he finds a roster spot somewhere.
  25. No. The Mike from the buchtelite is actually writing for a smaller newspaper in the Carolinas.
