Too early to blame Ianello This was posted in the soccer forum, but I think it belongs here and deserves a discussion of its own. Depth was a big problem, but who's fault is that? Who drove away walk-ons and scholarship players in droves? Gaffney mentions that this recruiting class will have lots of JUCO players. I wish the recruiting services reported JUCO recruiting as well as they do high school. We don't have any JUCO verbals yet, but they don't usually get reported until late. We have offered 6 JUCOs according to Rivals.

Thanks for checking in. Thanks especially for the video of the Kofi shot. I agree that having the team be forced to fight to the bitter end in this game could pay off heading into the college cup. It sends a message that things aren't going to be a breeze like the regular season. They have to step up their game for one final weekend. Maybe change up tactics slightly, because well-coached teams are starting to figure out how to mitigate our strengths.

I wish so badly that I could be there, but a combination of being a broke college student and an inflexible work schedule prevent me from attending my second College Cup in as many years.

Noisemakers and signs arent permitted because its an NCAA tournament. I would expect the rule to apply to all divisions of the NCAA. They are allowed at all other games since they are regular season games. Yes, the NCAA would hate to make soccer fun for the fans. Therefore all signs/noisemakers are banned. A couple Cal fans found a neat loophole in the no signs rule. They brought a blanket with a logo and message stitched into it. They could hold it up as a 6' by 6' sign, then put it on the ground and sit on it when the officials showed up to tell them off. If the NCAA really enforced the no signs rule, then holding up your team scarves would be forbidden.
