  1. thats actually pretty genius. More seating behind the goals so spectators can see over the rowdies. Plus more distractions and noise I wonder about seeing over the Rowdies. Maybe on low-attendance nights it won't be a problem, but at a sellout the standing students will fill the entire hill which makes the first few rows of bleachers pretty useless. Light poles should be going up soon. Can't wait to see how much of an upgrade it is over the old "temporary" lights that became permanent.
  2. Good times...
  3. Cameron Dickerson verbals to Northwestern.
  4. I don't think you'll see the sideline from that close. The lower bowl is not very steep. But I can't say for sure because I usually sit in the student section, right up against the wall in the front row.
  5. Glad to hear that you guys are getting taken care of. You seem to have a good plan set up here. When tailgating, keep in mind that alcohol is not supposed to be allowed so try to keep it under cover. Our stadium and campus are landlocked in an urban environment, so there is no sprawling parking lot surrounding the stadium for tailgating, instead its scattered around the various university lots. If anybody is flying to Akron-Canton Airport, it's about a 10 minute drive from the university and there are plenty of hotels along the way. It's also much, much closer to the Pro Football Hall of Fame which is something interesting to do. You're also about two hours away from Cedar Point along I-90, but it's bound to be extremely crowded that weekend.
  6. Betty White tells LeBron she'll "make it worth your while" if he stays in Cleveland. Another Cleveland-based sitcom. I guess the sheer amount of down-to-earthiness found here is amusing to people so used to vapid fakeness in Hollywood/everywhere else.
  7. So from what I gather, the old bleachers will be moved to be behind the goals. The east bleachers will be on top of the grass hill, on a concrete slab that's been place there.
  8. New offer: QB Kyle Pohl.
  9. I'm gonna guess $0. Why would he donate anything? Would he pay for the U to get a new arena, and so make obsolete the place he played his high school games in?
  10. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/...tory?id=5345790 Now it makes sense. Ianello is so technologically advanced in the age of Facebook that texting was too ancient a mode of communication for him to master.
  11. DT Dylan Brumbaugh of Green HS verbals to the Zips.
  12. Zips get a new verbal! DT Dylan Brumbaugh from Green HS.
  13. DE Joel heath verbals to Michigan State.
  14. Oren Wilson sounds like trouble to me. Sounds like a move Brookhart would have made early in his career, doesn't it? It's a reason i wanted a coach who already ahd experience as a HC at some level, so we don't have to suffer through another new coach learning from their first-time mistakes.
  15. Source? Scout forums. It would be advantageous to ZN readers if you would type...."Scout forums (include link here) suggests that (players name here) might be transferring to Akron" Scout forums (link included here) suggests that (Oren Wilson) might be transferring to Akron.
  16. And now it's gone again.
  17. And now it's back.
  18. There's nothing there. Did his blog get wiped, or did he delete it to focus on politics?
  19. UA's Twitter account says: "Sod in place on renovated soccer field. New lights & seating coming next. All will be ready for matches in Aug."
  20. 2009 Fun Stats: - Fourth Quarter Scoring: Opponents 106 – Akron 45 - Sacks: Opponents 26 for 165 yards – Akron 11 for 63 yards - Punt return average: Opponents 11 yards per try – Akron 6.4 yards per try To mabye get 6 wins, the fun stats stated must change. I knew that it was a bad year, but I did not think that it was that dismal. We always fell apart in the 4th quarter last year. If JD's players would have played a full game instead of packing it up after the 3rd, he might still be coaching here. I think it's a matter of strength and conditioning, which is something we have (hopefully) addressed with a new Strength coach.
  21. A. Schulman donates $120,000 worth of equipment to the Polymer Engineering program.
  22. DE Jack Miller verbals to Michigan and TE Ray Hamilton verbals to Iowa.

  24. The word is that the Zips are getting a transfer from the Big Ten. A big defensive player who has had a recent run-in with the law. He'll sit out this season and play for one year in 2011. A risky move by a new head coach. It echoes Brookhart's old habit as a brand-new coach of going after talent without regards to the possible consequences.
  25. The Cavs are about to announce Byron Scott as their new head coach.
