  1. This is the most important game of the year, and I think the ZIps will run away with it.
  2. Big Dog stepped up when we needed him most. But I don't think he's at the point where he can sustain that level for more than a few games. Not this year, at least.
  3. We dropped to 113 in the RPI after beating them. But we're protected to finish with an RPI of 50, which would be great. In fact, the MAC is projected to be a top ten conference, with no team in the bottom third. This may be the MAC's best year in decades, and Akron should be at the very top.
  4. How long until Forsythe comes back?
  5. Time to start pulling away.
  6. Really bad shooting night, but it looks like Lipscomb is getting into foul trouble.
  7. Missing Kretzer and Forsythe is really hurting.
  8. TE Thomas Cole decommits. https://twitter.com/CMAnderson247/status/682202248668028928
  9. Miami is also a cupcake.
  10. We're sitting at an RPI of 96 before the game. Let's see where we land.
  11. Knew I forgot a transfer last post: Kevin Gladney. Here's an update: Commits: QB Kato Nelson, Flanagan HS, Pembroke Pines, FL TE Thomas Cole, Brooke HS, Wellsburg, WV OT Trenton Fincher, East Kentwood HS, Grand Rapids, MI T Jonathan Neeley, Ursuline HS, Hubbard, OH DL Trevor Brown, Jireh Prep Academy, Indian Trail NC Transfers: WR Jojo Natson, Utah State OL Josh Krok, Kentucky ATH Kwadarrius Smith, Missouri WR Kevin Gladney, Nebraska
  12. RPI dropped to 101. What a hit to the ol' SOS. Lipscomb will be an even bigger anchor.
  13. Up 10 at half. Want to win by 25+.
  14. Right now, it's silly to worry about Star ratings when we only have five verbals. And not all of those are solid.
  15. Akron's RPI jumped 17 spots tonight. UCSB's win was a big part of that.
  16. RPIforecast.com has a list of probabilities for all possible regular season records Akron can achieve. Winning out is listed as 0.34%, and losing one more game is listed as 2.05%, which is actually fairly reasonable. Right now, they have Akron as most likely to end up between 22 and 25 D-I wins (Plus Hiram). But they also predict the RPI for each of those win totals. If we won all remaining games, our RPI would be around 19 (but would change after MAC tournament games). In fact, Akron can win two more games (against good competition like Can't or EMU) and still have an RPI in the top-30, which puts us on the bubble at least.
  17. Rodney Coe ets some hometown recognition: https://thetelegraph.com/sports/75680/college-football-coe-close-career-at-akron
  18. Akron will take the longest active win streak of all the Ohio D-I schools into the off-season.
  19. Barring a miracle, Akron will finish with a better record than NIU.
  20. 78-64 Zips win!
  21. 67-59 Akron. Zips in a scoreless streak.
  22. Back up to 51-41. Antino starting to get going.
  23. Up 41-39 at half. Letting Iona hang around, not playing good defense. Getting lots of wide-open shots but not much is falling.
  24. Zips up 34-26
  25. You came here at the absolute worst point in the 124-year history of the football program, and you leave us with the best season in Zips history. It's hard to believe and if I didn't watch it happen in person, I doubt I would ever understand the full impact of your careers at Akron. So, thank you. Thanks for believing in your team and yourselves when nobody else did, thanks for taking a huge risk in coming here, and thanks for sticking it through to the end.
