  1. http://www.bobcatattack.com/messageboard/topic.asp?FromPage=173&ForumPID=6&PID=48323 Ohio fans sure didn't think so.
  2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_college_bowl_games Lowest of all bowl games w/ known payouts. $325,000. And half of that gets split with the MAC, per payout rules.
  3. Just stay at home. Don't bother. Travel cost is ridiculous, bowl location is worst in the country, crappy opponent. Screw that.
  4. It's either Idaho or Detroit...
  5. http://www.idahostatesman.com/sports/college/mountain-west/boise-state-university/bronco-beat-blog/article48283190.html NIU to San Diego and Toledo to Boca Raton. This article projects us playing un Tuscon, but that can't happen unless they threw all the MAC's bowl obligations out the window with the lack of eligible teams. That leaves Boise, Detroit, and Montgomery as possible destinations. Anywhere but Boise, please...
  6. http://www.bcsn.tv/news_article/show/585916?referrer_id=878183 BGSU to play Georgia Southern in the GoDaddy Bowl. Should be a good game, even without Babers calling plays.
  7. I heard somebody from Creighton tried to shush the ROWDIES on the last free kick.
  8. How many on here were calling for Embick's head this season again?
  9. Video hasn't cut out for me at all.
  10. Zips win 75-65. Ugly, lots of turnovers. Dominated on boards.
  11. The offense is different when Noah is in. It's going to be an adjustment. Better to get it over with sooner and have everything clicking when MAC play starts. Having the adjustment period during the start of conference games would be rough.
  12. Coppin State just put on film the best way to beat Akron's defense: mid-range jumpers. Our guards can't adjust when opposing players break through the perimeter or beat them off the dribble, and our bigs are either right under the basket and can'r close, or way out on the perimeter. I do have to give credit to Coppin State, though. They looked much more athletic and quick than I expected.
  13. Judging by reactions on Twitter, Tulane fans REALLY don't want Bowden as their next HC. Their message board is only slightly less unfavorable.
  14. Last time we went to Detroit, Akron sold out its allotment of tickets, and there were 50,000 fans in attendance. You can't beat a 2-hour drive to your bowl game in a climate-controlled facility if you want fans to attend. But I'd rather the game be in Boca Raton. Think of the recruiting benefits. It's almost the Bahamas, too.
  15. Dino Babers looks like he's heading to UCF. source
  16. Akron dominated possession with crisp passing and a relentless attack.
  17. Schools lose money on bowls not because of travel expenses, but because the bowls require that the participating schools each purchase a large allotment of tickets. This is why the actual bowls never see financial failure, but the schools end up in the red.
  18. We went from the top, to rock bottom, to back to a bowl game. What a crazy decade of Zips football.
  19. Why is Old Dominion a 4-point home underdog to a 2-9 FAU team? Something fishy there.
  20. We're at 72 teams eligible. 11 teams left and 8 open spots. I would be very surprised if enough teams qualified.
  21. Offensively, I agree.
  22. French just said that Noah should be back on Wednesday, but he's not at 100% yet.
  23. Texas is done.
  24. Let's goooooo Bahamas Bowl!
  25. If there aren't enough bowl-eligible teams, they will go down the list of 5-7 teams in order of APR until every spot is filled.
