  1. If BG wins, they will almost assuredly get an at-large bid. Hoping that Western wins and Can't loses. If the MAC can get 6 teams in bowls, it would be a good year for the MAC assuming that they win a few of them.Akron gets a small piece of bowl payout money for each MAC bowl team. That's another way that BCS conferences have tons of money because they usually have tons of bowl teams.
  2. You know. Wow. Get it yet?
  3. Thanks.I hope TBA turns into I-AA.Keep Syracuse.Drop either KY or IN (whichever pays less) and pick up another I-AA team. Actually, try to drop both and pick up a non-BCS D-1A team. We need to get out of playing 3 BCS level teams in a year. There is no reason to guarantee losing three games. The cycle of losing needs to stop and it needs to start with scheduling. Let's try to avoid three road games in a row next year as well. It's time to start winning. Let's put ourselves in a position to win and turn losers into winners.I agree completely with what you said about scheduling, but we can't change it for next year. We owe Indiana and Kentucky a road game, and it would be dumb to dump a home game with Syracuse after already having played two games in their dome.I do want a 1-AA team to fill in the open spot.I think that football needs to never schedule a Big Ten team again. I don't mind if we schedule a payday game, just make it somewhere interesting to travel to.
  4. This is the story of Caleb Porter: How he got to where he is and what he does to create success. The title of this thread uses the word "story", but if he keeps it up we may have to change it to "legend".
  5. Right now the schedule looks like this:@ KentuckySyracuseTBA@Indiana
  6. I like the "video game" offense. ALWAYS go for it on 4th down beyond the 50, ALWAYS go for the 2-pt conversion. When it comes to 2-pt conversions, if you're successful 51% or more of the time, you're going to be better off than kicking a PAT.
  7. Finally, the real season begins!South Florida and their fans are perfect examples of BCS entitlement syndrome. They need to get knocked down a few pegs.I'm hoping for something on the order of a 5-0 Zips victory and complete domination for 90 minutes. The first match up on our revenge tour should be a good one.
  8. This whole thing is one of the biggest train wrecks I've ever witnessed. It's the perfect storm of bad basketball, bad officiating, and bad broadcasting. And it is about to get worse once they switch to the football game.
  9. If you are going to go with a coordinator, why not try to get Kansas' offensive coordinator Ed Warinner. He was once an assistant at Akron, and was one of three finalists for the AFCA Assistant Coach of the Year award.
  10. A Red Card on "Team" means that the coach has been ejected.
  11. Scratch all that. There's something very wrong with gametracker.
  12. Duke survives Winthrop 3-2. Chinks showing in the ACC's armor, but no losses yet.
  13. Wofford destroys Santa Barbara 4-1. UCSB had three red cards on them (one on the team, two on players)!UCSB scored their lone goal in the 81st minute, after trailing 4-0. So much for the fearsome Gauchos.
  14. Maryland beats Loyola (MD) 2-1. 5 yellow cards were issued in the final four minutes. Two on Loyola, and three on Maryland. Anybody have the story on what happened there?
  15. IU lives a charmed life in the tournament. Louisville is dominating, but somehow IU gets the right bounces.
  16. In the game most Zips fans are following, Stetson is up 1-0 on South Florida in the 7th minute.
  17. Duke goes up 1-0 on Winthrop on a Ryan Finley goal just two minutes into the game.
  18. Well only about 10 rushed the field.
  19. A link to gametrackers for every game in progress tonight. Just click on the "In Progress" button. So far, Monmouth knocked off UConn in a 6th round of PKs and Sacramento State beat Loyola Marymount in OT. Two close games.
  20. Monmouth wins in a 6th round of PKs. All 10 fans charged the field.Nice to see a smaller team knock off a Big East team while picking up their first NCAA tourney win in program history. They'll go on to play at 10-seed Harvard. At 4:00, it's Sacrament State at Loyola Marymount playing for the right to be destroyed by UCLA.
  21. The feed is going in and out, and I'm missing lots of the PKs! Almost 1000 viewers, so the stream might be crashing.
  22. Monmouth is 18-1-1 which is the second best record behind Akron, but their strength of schedule leaves something to be desired.Game is now in PKs.
  23. They could if they heard news that we don't have access to. Players are the first ones to know when a coach is going to be gone.
  24. I would prefer somebody who has experience dealing with scholarships. So no D-III coaches.
  25. Can anybody find a link to a USF or Stetson soccer forum?
