Because they're Indiana. So long as they have a winning record of any kind, they'll be in. They're hosting a first-round game, which means that the NCAA will at least get one high-attendance (which means more $$$) game out of them.

The only undefeated team, the top RPI, the top in the polls, etc. If another team gets it, it's because of name recognition and an admission by the NCAA that they are in the pockets of the "big boys".

My perspective: Hartwick is a dirty team. Frustration got the best of them and they were determined to mar Akron's season, even as theirs was destined to end tonight no matter the result.About half way through the first half, Akron took over and started playing the type of game that got them into this position in the first place.The AK-Rowdies were in Hartwick's heads more than I've seen with any other team this season. Hartwick's president, who was at the game, even filed a complaint against them for being too mean to the keeper.

NIU has had attitude issues all season. And not just against Akron. They come off as a mean-spirited team.

They're gonna need more than 8 cops for the Hartwick game. That team is out looking for a fight. If they can't beat us on the field, they'll try to take us down in the press by creating a scandal.

I wish I knew.The only reason the NIU goalie didn't get a red card was because Ampai was called offsides. If he wasn't offsides, the keeper would have been removed from the game.
