He's technically still a freshman (a 3rd year freshman!), so all I expect from him is what I would expect from any freshman getting playing time: contribute for half a game, and play as well as you can. Limit your mistakes, but don't try to put the team on your shoulders.

Now that LeFevour is gone, CMU will go back to sucking. If the coach knows what's good for him he'll be gone by January.I think that even with the right coach we wouldn't have beat CMU, but we would be bowling. I can't wait. There's absolutely no reason for Akron not to challenge for the East every single year. Our schedule is 90% cupcakes, with one or two body bag games thrown in to pay the bills. Why can't we beat those cupcakes and occasionally put a scare into the BCS teams? I think we can with the talent we currently have, if only we can find the right coach.

It will be broadcast on GoZips.com for free once again.It's great that they aren't charging to watch this.It seems like it could be a great marketing thing: All sold-out games in any sport should be broadcast for free. Every time you can tell people that a game's sold out, it tells them that the game is the place to be on that night. What you lose in subscription fees you make up in the long run from the people impressed by the free broadcast who will hopefully try to get to another game.The Horizon League does the free broadcasts to great success.

Well every talking head in the country has said "He's going to be a head coach, and he has the ability to recruit."Every "name" on that defense over the last 3 seasons, was recruited by Fickel. (and yes it's easier to recruit for OSU than Akron, but he's beating out, Nebraska's, USC's, and Texas's for some of these kids.) Surely he can beat out MAC schools and low tier Big East schools for the players we compete for.Yes, he's a great recruiter. He also brings media attention, especially from the Cleveland TV people, due to his apparent role as the successor to Tressel (where does this come from, anyway?).

Seems to me that report (and others on the web like it) only indicates that sometime next week Stoops will actually talk to YSU. A little bit of a leap to assume it's a done deal, when other guys are still interviewing with YSU right now?Hope it works out either way for YSU.It seems like it's a matter of time, but I wouldn't simply assume that it's a done deal until the announcement is made.
