  1. Great to hear.... but the last thing our campus needs is MORE buildings... at least thats what I think.Im guessing such expansion would require the university to purchase more properties surrounding the campus...Or replacing some of the old existing buildings with newer, better ones perhaps. That is more likely. Memorial Hall will be replaced with a new education building, and there are plenty of old buildings on the north side of campus surrounding the Wonder Bread factory that could be replaced with education buildings and dorms, and there is that building next the the business college that is supposed to be replaced with the international business college.
  2. That's what happens when you don't factor in margin of victory.
  3. UA looks to investors for future expansion
  4. More like Akron Soccer = Gonzaga BasketballGreat team that might be good enough to overcome a poor conference that holds them back.
  5. The games game against Virginia Tech and especially Buffalo hurt our SOS.Penn State is 16, and Michigan State is 23, so those should boost us. Hartwick is 61, which will probably hurt, though. The MAC scheduling is catching up to us.
  6. The second release of the RPI info should be happening within a few hours. Last time, I was shocked to see Northwestern on top. They have since lost a game, but should be somewhere around #4. But enough about the only Big Ten team afraid to schedule us. Akron should be #1 this time. I am also hoping for an improvement from the other MAC teams. Playing NIU and hartwick in the tournament could boost our RPI even higher above the crowd if they do well. There is only one more RPI release after this one. It comes out 2 weeks from today, and will be a major factor for seeding the NCAA tournament.
  7. This Just in: We have another 2010 commitment. From Top Drawer and ESPN reports, a verbal from Gabriel Genovesi, Mequon, Wisconsin. Not familiar with this kid. No position listed, no national team play. Will try to find more. He's the second commit, after US-U17 captain Perry Kitchen.I am from WI and joined to follow Genovesi as he goes on to Akron. If it helps, Genovesi was recruited by several D1 schools (SLU, Wake Forest, GTown, GWU, to name a few) in all 3 field positions. He played USSF Academy for FC Milwaukee but now plays on a mens team (ages range from 20-30), the MK Majors. He is also a State Track Champion in the 400m and has the longest throw in I have ever seen in my life. He did play for the WI 1992 ODP team and the regional team but then joined the USSF Academy, where they do not allow you to do ODP. His Dad is FDU Hall of Famer Michael King and who holds a NCAA D1 scoring record and played with the Cleveland Crunch. Another interesting note is that he started playing soccer in 8th grade. Here is a link: http://ussda.demosphere.com/teams/10876653...8/11635408.htmlWelcome! Thanks for the info. Finding stuff on soccer players is quite a bit more difficult than it is for some other sports.
  8. The women's soccer team beat Can't 1-0 on a goal in the 87th minute to ruin the flushers' senior day.The Lady Zips have now won 5 straight, and are in position to get a top-four seed, which means that we would host a 1st round MAC tournament game at Lee Jackson field against a lower seed.Their next game is at home against Ohio on Thursday at 3PM. This game is absolutely huge. It is senior night, and it will probably determine whether we get a MAC tournament home game or not.
  9. I think they need to announce it at the soccer game on Wednesday. Get everybody voting.
  10. OK. So I'm thinking we should fire JD now, and appoint an interim head coach. If stupid calls are still made, keep repeating down the chain of command until you find someone who doesn't screw up.
  11. A 52 yard punt.Again, why weren't we doing this all freaking season?
  12. So why wasn't that punter in the whole season?
  13. Down 21-14.
  14. My god. A 6 yard punt.
  15. Miguel Graham hurts his ankle, taken to the lockerroom.Injury numbers are getting absurdly high.
  16. Don't forget that the women's team plays at Can't on Sunday at 1:00.
  17. TD Dashan Miller! Tied on a kick return.
  18. Are you stopping in Buffalo for the soccer games?
  19. One of the advantages of carrying less weight is that it places less stress on the feet and ankles, not to mention the knees, etc.So drink lots of milk, Zeke, and make those ankle bones strong!
  20. First off, I am sorry. I've been deceived, and learned my lesson.Second, my screenname isn't changing any time soon.
  21. Zip ME87, you are my hero. I searched for mentions of this in the news, on blogs, and other such sources of information to confirm this, but it never occurred to me to check at the NCAA itself.
  22. It could have an effect, but I would wait until a few days before the selection day before worrying. There's still many games to be played.
  23. I heard that one from some AK-Rowdies. They seemed very certain of it, and I'm inclined to believe them. I can't find anything in print that I could link you to. Maybe a talk with the soccer players or coaches could confirm it.
