That philosophy is the reason our schedule is so weak. No big-name teams are willing to come to the JAR unless they get something better in return. The only way to get the respect of the "Major" conference teams is to make it deep into the tournament on a consistent basis. Plus our own conference needs to step it up.

This just keeps getting worse and worse. We aren't playing good at all, and WSSU is taking advantage of our mistakes.

Wow. Winston-Salem is putting up a decent fight so far. I think we will win because of our depth, but we are only up 17-13 right now.

We need our own conference to pick up some slack. It seems like we are the only ones pulling our weight around here. They have this awesome feature at Mid-Majority that shows how the MAC has done against every other conference they have played. So far the conference is 39-43, which is a losing record, and is bad for us. Here is the link.

This spring will be interesting to say the least. We are going to have an epic QB battle on our hands, plus we have to replace the O-line. With the calibur of recruits we are getting, next fall will be exciting.

Beating Winston-Salem could actually hurt us, but not as much as losing to them. They are a very bad team, so look for a HUGE blowout at home tomorrow. This saturday is sort of like a Super-Saturday for college men's BB. Just look at the schedule. Does anyone here know if any of our games will be on TV (not ESPNU)?

For one thing, there is a public smoking ban put into effect today, so a smoker's tax makes no sense. For another thing, few people want a stadium built, and would not like to pay taxes for a building that will sit empty after the team flops like all seven of the other MLS teams have in the past. The only reason the place would get built is so Wolstein has an excuse build his mini-malls around the stadium. If Macedonia want's a stadium that badly they should pay for it, not the county.

I see what you are saying, and I agree. I just wanted to point out that FG% does not neccissarily mean that a team is great, just look at Northern Illinois.

Those stats are a little deceiving. Northern Illinois is above us in FG%, but we all know how bad they are doing right now. I think what is more telling is the margin of victory. Akron is beating their opponents by over 20 points each game, on average.

Actually, Igor was kicked out of school for being involved in some sort of fight. He was supposed to be one of the best freshman kickers in the country, but he hurt his back before the season started, so we had to use a walk-on kicker and a soccer player and neither of those worked out too well.
