I would agree with that. Especially at the beginning of the year. I would give it a ten percent chance of happening late in the mac season, barring injury.

Odd how you can go to NFL camps and set up shop. You can video camps if you like. It's a fan experience. In some camps (Pittsburgh for example) a lot of folks can't get to see home games due to the lack of availability of tickets or the Steelers pricing them out. It's the only time those fans get to see the players all year. Fans yell like they are part of the practice. I'm sure it's like that at most if not all NFL camps. But it is a slam dunk fan relation marketing tool. I understand the difference between a camp and regular season practice, but it should be pretty much the same for the Zips. Fans should be able to attend more early August practices. Whenever Rob moves on from Akron (hopefully in ten years), I hope some media member is able to ask him what he would have done different in the beginning, now that he is an experienced HC. Fan relations needs to improve. I'm not saying he needs to do it, but he needs somebody taking care of it.

I agree, I learned a little watching the segment after the scrimmage. I understand why we are not hearing about the QB battle, but I would love an update too. In the segment before the scrimmage, iCoach invites the former players to come by and watch practice. Any chance ZipsNation memebers can get an invite iCoach? One of us would love to come to practice and do a little write up to get the fan base excited. I think it's working in the basketball forum.

I love these player interviews. Letting the fans get to know the players is a GREAT idea. Makes me (the fan) involved on a personal level. I like rooting for someone that I know about. Good interview also, I learned a lot. Good job.

Most people don't understand marketing. See the above post. Goodies don't equal marketing. He basically argues we don't need marketing, and then states he liked the marketing of the acme zip game and comes to games because of the scheduling. Winning is the best way to get people to a game?.....no kidding. Good/some marketing gets 20 percent more fans to a .500 team's season.

Keener did a good job of describing how I feel. But I'm going to pull only one of your complaints and try to address it. Rob is not a rookie coach anymore. Your right last year was a learn on the job rookie effort. I would give him a D-....but, last year is OVER. They haven't invented anything yet to go back in time and change things, so I'm not focusing any more effort complaining about last season. I am willing to look past last season and focus on what is going on in the present and try to look to the future. I want to see if ROB progresses this year. It is possible that he will get that much better. He isn't going anywhere for at least two more seasons. Winning is the answer. One other thing addressing GZ overall statement. I get a feeling of "lack of excitement" from a HUGE Zips fan. How can a marketing department loose a guy like this? It amazes me year in and year out how the Browns can get their fans excited for another loosing season. What does our marketing department do?

I remember KD saying for the last couple of years that we are not ready to play a tough schedule. When the schedule comes out I hope he comments if we are ready for that this year. From the sound of some, it sounds as though KD is ready to start scheduling "better" opponents.
