  1. Great thread D.I.G. I like your style.
  2. Gallery early in his Raiders career. ...and later in his career. I think this is a perfect fit for TP. He will get LOTS of ink.
  3. "The Zips have won one in a row, and Columbus State is on a 13 game losing streak!" ....You da man Frenchy
  4. Warning: STOP the personal attacks.
  5. I know it's kind of a hull for some of you, but kind of worth the trip. His prices are pretty good also. Another place that I frequent since its closer to my home is Twinsburg Beverage Beer & Wine. They have recently (a year ago) expanded and he is getting better and better. Another really good place if your ever in the neighborhood, is a place in Salem on the corner of 224 and 45 called Country Pantry Gulf. It's a Gulf gas station, but they have hundreds of beers. Not worth a road trip, but if your passing in that area, worth a stop. While we are on the subject of alcohol, not worth it's own thread, but if you are a fan of scotch from Islay, I had a 12 year old Caol Ila last night. Incredible.
  6. I'm not sure how ZN posters can think that the Lone Range is better? What criteria are you using? Watching a practice? Hoping he is better than what you saw last year at the position? I'm hoping that both QB's can play in Columbus so we can get a real game time evaluation. Does anybody think the QB practice situation may be too hard to evaluate, and the only way to figure it out is game time situation?...which is what really counts. It's possible Columbus won't even give a good evaluation if both play, then we move on to Temple. It's not such a bad thing, as some suggest, that we need to decide who the starter is now. Maybe letting it play out is the best thing for our win loss record this year...and next. Isn't that what it's really about?
  7. Hands Down 2000 beers, if they don't have it, they will get it in on request in a few days.
  8. Thanks JZ!!
  9. I can't believe Mount Union football hasn't given him an award for the countless articles he wrote about them while being paid by the AKRON paper while ignoring the Zips.
  10. No he doesn't. The last article I read of his when he actually had an opinion was when he wrote this big article when the Tribe signed Alomar, saying it was a huge mistake. Robby was no good, spit on umpires, was going to be trouble in the club house. Now Alomar is in the hof and probably was half of the best middle infield I have seen in my lifetime. TP's opinions suck, he should stick to diggin up old stuff and redoing it.
  11. Nice article. I'm hoping Marquelo is one of the pieces that makes a difference this year.
  12. Lee sure could get the fans at the Rubber Bowl excited. I'm from the Bill Belichick school, I would have my 800 mm Nikon Telephoto lens on that wrist band, and have a print out before kick off. Maybe I'll try that this year.
  13. Done. I'll have it at the first tailgate. Keener, you have to stop over for a taste, just to say you did.
  14. JoPa Doesn't Wear a Vest
  15. I would agree with that. Especially at the beginning of the year. I would give it a ten percent chance of happening late in the mac season, barring injury.
  16. Flavored beers really aren't my thing, but some say this is good. I think the only flavored beer I like is the Summer Shandy on tap.
  17. Odd how you can go to NFL camps and set up shop. You can video camps if you like. It's a fan experience. In some camps (Pittsburgh for example) a lot of folks can't get to see home games due to the lack of availability of tickets or the Steelers pricing them out. It's the only time those fans get to see the players all year. Fans yell like they are part of the practice. I'm sure it's like that at most if not all NFL camps. But it is a slam dunk fan relation marketing tool. I understand the difference between a camp and regular season practice, but it should be pretty much the same for the Zips. Fans should be able to attend more early August practices. Whenever Rob moves on from Akron (hopefully in ten years), I hope some media member is able to ask him what he would have done different in the beginning, now that he is an experienced HC. Fan relations needs to improve. I'm not saying he needs to do it, but he needs somebody taking care of it.
  18. Dambrot agrees with you Quick. And he says the injury is "minor".
  19. Thanks JZ that's great for the hardcore fans. Why does the U make it so hard on us? How the F, can't that store at the Info order 10 Wagner jerseys from those guys? I bet they sell. Maybe they can make my Lot Niners™ Tees?
  20. Thank you! You just earned yourself a tailgate beer. I'll take your request now. I'm headed to the Burg this weekend, want one of these?
  21. I really hope that somebody from ZN goes to practice on Saturday since it's open to the public and writes an opinion here. I'm out of town, or I would peep it out myself. Wouldn't it be awesome to be wearing these all season?
  22. NCAA Opening New Investigation
  23. Sometimes coaches have to flip a coin right before the season to figure out who the QB is. Happened with the Browns if you'll recall.
  24. Attention Akron secondary, Possible Columbus Starting QB Can't Throw Deep
