I was hoping to get the full story on the cat obsession. Incomplete article.

Temple is a good team. One of the big differences will be the fact that we are playing that at home. The spread on that game won't be 30+ like it is this week.

The 10 Ten Reasons Why UA Might Give OSU a Game
Dr Z replied to johnnyzip84's topic in Akron Zips Football
I like it JZ!!! Can I add another "10"? 10. Rossi's long hair is a party just waiting to happen. 09. Turnovers. It's obvious from the videos of practice we will be at least +3. 08. Wags076 made that sweet graphic, we have got to able to use that for years. 07. The line on sportsbook.com has dropped from 34 to 33.5, which means tons of money on Zips because everybody knows the obvious. 06. More multiple suspensions tomorrow resulting in Columbus only being able to field 10 on D, and 8 on O. 05. Zips have had more "spirited" practices than Columbus. 04. Better mascot. Check with Capital One. 03. Soccer Rowdies take over Cow-town again and provide Zips with 12th man advantage. 02. Zips convince Columbus that we are in the SEC. 01. My ticket representative told me he has been at practices, and it is a different team this year. (from the bball forum, we know what that means) Best I could muster up during half time of the Kentucky game. -
According to Mike. Starting for the Zips 2011 QB- Sophomore RB- Sophomore WR- Sophomore & Junior TE- Sophomore or Junior OL- Sophomore/Senior/Junior/Senior/Senior DL- Sophomore/Senior/Senior/Senior LB- Sophomore/Junior/Junior CB- Junior/Junior S- Freshman/Junior

Cant WAIT to see CM8 get in an argument with COACH I on the sidlines, If he showed disrespect for a Coach who got them to the playoffs how will he hande a coach who cant tie his shoes. Bringing this thread back on topic (for D.I.G.). I don't know how LR8 will produce as a QB on the field, but I would suspect his sideline arguments with the coach are over. He chose to come here and play for this coach. His road here seems long and he seems grateful. BTW I think I saw a 4 time super bowl HOF QB argue with his coach once or twice on the sideline. PN7 needs to keep his head up and continue to work hard, his opportunity will come.

I think on one of the videos I watched, they had a the scoreboard during practice in the Info read Zips 24 OSU 21. I thought that was kewl. It got me thinking, how many points do fans believe the Zips will score? How do you think they will score? JZ84 set the bar high with his prediction in another thread.

92.3 FM The Fan, today at noon to hear coach Rob Ianello talk with show host Andy Baskin. I think you can listen online here.

Schedule shows just like you wrote 2 pm, 7 pm & 10 pm. I'll record. It was very well done last year. I would recommend it to MAC fans.

Name Your Top "Zips vs. BCS Opponent" Moments
Dr Z replied to Captain Kangaroo's topic in Akron Zips Football
I know CK said positive only, but clicking on your link JZ reminded me of a guy that robbed us of a potential BCS moment against Indiana, at home, on a gorgeous day. No comments needed in order to stay positive. But someday I want an official apology issued to the Lot Niners™. Carry on. I'll add another one (sort of). Last year tailgating with the Kentucky fans. Although the game was terrible, the Kentucky fans tailgate before and after made the trip well worth while. Gracious hosts. -
I have no idea who "Hammer" is, but we have something in common, Go Zips! ___________Art by wags076

Zips Ultimate Season Ticket $60 Family Plan (2 Adult and 2 Youth) for $200 Pretty good deals if they can start to win some of these home games. I like what the Indians are doing for (some) season ticket holders, they put a $3 concession voucher on the ticket, so you take the ticket to the beer stand and pay $3 less. There should be some benefit to being a multi-year season ticket holder.

ESPN Source Keeping track of college football helmets used to be simple. Every team had one helmet design, except for Washington State, which had separate designs for home and road games, and that was that. Those days are gone. With more and more schools taking their cues from Oregon, the idea of having multiple helmet looks is catching on. And even if the helmet's basic shell color stays the same, you can swap in a new face mask color, a new logo decal, a new center-stripe pattern. The possibilities are limited only by your imagination • You know what Bowling Green really needed? If you answered, "a crazy number font and some stripes on the back of the pant legs," then you're in luck. Meanwhile, the helmet now has a new logo, a brown face mask, and a tapered stripe. You can see how all of this looks on the field in this video clip. • Buffalo is going with a simpler look this year. Seems like an improvement, except for those armpit stains panels. • Ohio is slated to wear a helmet decal in memory of former player Marcellis Williamson, who died in April. • Temple is going back to the outline "T" helmet logo, same as the one they wore from 1989-95 and 2004-06. • Western Michigan's helmet now has a big "W."

Name Your Top "Zips vs. BCS Opponent" Moments

2001 Charlie Frye to Jake Schifino touchdown pass against Columbus State, making the game 21-7 right before half. Gave us good momentum going into halftime. Unfortunately the Luckeyes worst pass of the afternoon went off the hands of freshman cornerback John Fuller at the Akron 35 and into the grasp of Vance, who sprinted untouched to the end zone. That was the lucky game changer. But that TD to Schifino gave me great hope, and was an awesome throw and catch. -
Here you go. Let us know how much you are wagering. You get 34 points.

This is the quote that sticks out to me. “Clayton has a knack for two things,” Ianello told the Akron Beacon Journal. “One, making big plays to keep things going. Two, for making bonehead plays to stop things from going. He has to eliminate (No. 2).” I hope LR8 has number two worked out before Saturday. That secondary in Columbus has a lot of athletes that can take you out of a game quickly.

Don't forget the three months of obsessive flooding every football thread of how "we would be worse this year than last." PS Thanks for the "tidbits" JZ, I'm sure you saved me time.

source Offensive tackle J.B. Shugarts said the 25-year-old Bauserman was more knowledgeable about the playbook. "Joe's an older guy, he's been around. He knows the system a little bit," he said. "Joe's a little more of a pocket passer, but he's a lot more athletic than people give him credit for when he gets out of the pocket. We all know Braxton can make some plays on his feet if he has to scramble or step up." If our strength on D is our front 7, go get this statue. TWENTY FIVE!!! How many degrees can one get in Columbus?

Got one set aside for you and JZ. I finished a complete one, which is a compliment to any "fruit" beer. It has a surprisingly decent taste, not perfume tasting. I've handed one to about 6 different people, everyone seemed to enjoy.

I think this is the best a Zip fan could have hoped for. Wags, that image rulz!!! I would like that thing without any text on it, so I can use it all year around.
