  1. One thing I learned from coach Moorhead's previous time at Akron, he is a type A personality. Coaching the bowl game doesn't surprise me at all. Doesn't concern me either. Could be used as a recruiting tool as well.
  2. Coach Moorhead is an excellent communicator. Looking forward to this as well. Not expecting to learn a lot. Probably more motivational, and positive outlook speech.
  3. I think I would phrase that as, "Bowden landed on Akron." This hire seems different to me. Seems more professional. At least I hope.
  4. It's possible this update is still working in the background, and needs some time. Please check late today or tomorrow. I'll fill out a ticket if you tell me it still doesn't work tomorrow. Thanks for testing 👍
  5. Minor update run this morning. Supposed to fix bugs from the last big upgrade. @LZIp Does this fix your embedded Twitter issue?
  6. The first time a friend saw the Z logo on the JAR floor, he commented to me “oh, so they used Northwestern’s logo and rotated it” I have a hard time not seeing that now. It’s slowly grown on me over the years, but I give it a C- at best.
  7. I added the Roo as a choice.
  8. This thread needs a poll. @a-zip this is your topic. I don't think you can edit a poll into this thread. If you started another thread with a poll, I could merge this one into it.
  9. If he wants him, I'm sure he will communicate with him. Shouldn't be hard to sell coach Moorhead's offensive philosophies. I would guess coach Moorhead will bring in a veteran transfer to "compete."
  10. I hope someone is wise enough to get these guys some Zips gear.
  11. I would guess Bob Shoop would be wanted on the Akron staff.
  12. The Brian Callahan that coached for the Zips, is now the OL coach at the University of Minnesota with PJ. Bill coaches with the Browns. Callahan and his wife, Valerie, have four children: daughters Cathryn and Jaclyn, and sons Brian and Daniel. Brian serves as the offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals. Two different Brian Callahans
  13. I will not be in attendance this Thursday. Sorry. Note: ZipsNation.org will get to interview coach Moorhead during spring practices. There will be more interesting information available for ZN members then.
  14. Click here to start when it's time Coach Moorhead will be formally introduced to Zips Nation at 10 a.m. ET Thursday, Dec. 9, in Akron. The press conference is not open to the public, but it will be streamed live at GoZips.com.
  15. For reference
  16. I thought the same. I'll place this here, for reference, since I'm sure the Oregon site will change soon. 2008 Akron Staff (Joe's last year before going to UConn) J.D. 17. This is a friendly warning, If you’re not interested in a topic, simply ignore it. There is no need to insult fellow Zips fans.
  18. You can welcome coach Moorhead in this thread, or on his Twitter account @BallCoachJoeMo Coach needs some assistance getting some blue and gold into that Twitter account though. 🦘🏈💤
  19. From the ESPN article linked above:
  20. The stars aligned. Joe wanted to come back east and get closer to home. It's possible Guthrie was born on third. We'll see how the story unfolds.
  21. ESPN Sports Illustrated CBS Sports ABC News GoZips dot com The University of Akron Cleveland dot com Penn Live The Athletic Oregon Live Larry Brown Sports "We are committed to fielding a championship-caliber football program at The University of Akron, and I'm confident we have found the right leader at the right time to make good on that promise, I believe Zips fans have been patient long enough" --Akron President Gary L.
