  1. Time for a new RB
  2. Intercepted!!!!!!
  3. Defense is tired
  4. For a Zips Win, IMO, there are three keys to this game: -Penn States motivation, or lack thereof. The just go back from Ireland and basically have a short week. Not saying that they will just throw there helmets down and phone it in. However will they even care? -The running game, as in time management. This will be the key for the offence. As it was stated earlier in this thread, keeping the defense fresh is not a option, but a must! -Chuck Amato. Last year, we all seen the game plan that he put together for Michigan and I expect the same. I promise you that Penn State will be watching that game from last year to see what not to do. I actually feel really good about this one because this is a very winnable game!
  5. That can't be right! Does anyone have any images? If that is true, the only reason would be that there was the Browns game as direct competition, but that is still no excuse!
  6. It is that time of the year again and a week and a half away! Zips Football starts their campaign against Howard, an FCS school. Now I will not breakdown the game, because we should know the outcome of this game. However I will ask these questions: What will the Zips do at the start? Will Bowden play very close to the vest, knowing full well that they will play Penn State the next week, or open it up for everyone to see? Will the backups play a ton of time? Will the defense be top notch(on a side note, is Robinson still on the team?) Will the team in general take this game seriously being on a Thursday night? Will Joe and Jane Akron even really care about this game, or even the season? Will the Zips take full advantage of what they have in front of them? Discuss.
  7. If it is the same person, would someone from CSU go as far as sabotage the ballot to "protect" the Wolfenstein Center?
  8. Something tells me if Goodyear does not plan to build there new plant in Akron, they might make a huge donation towards a new arena, IMO
  9. If that is the case, what are they going to do?
  10. Stop! He is not going anywhere.
  11. Dont worry, they will still only draw 3k a game!
  12. I disagree with this: I just do not see 1-3
  13. I said this before in other threads. The other option is to get corporate donors for the new arena. I have said from the start that there is only one company that can write the entire check to do it. The have the cash now to do something, the question will be will the be approached since the are completely committed to the community?
  14. That game last year the Zips quit. No question about it. 2-2 OOC can and will be done. I actually see 3-1, assuming that Marshall and Pitt is not as good as people think. This will be the season that people around the country will know what a Zip is and the Lady will stand tall!
  15. I respectfully disagree. I peosonally know people that live in that area(N. Randall, Maple Hts, Ecuid). that did not have a choice but to go to Beachwood/Legacy because of Randall closing and refused to shop at Southgate(a godzilla sizes stip plaza). Like I said eariler, Crocker does well because of the location, not because of the demo there. I used to go to Gameworks all the time and it took me over an hour to get there, so I would have to make it a day trip. Beachwood does have the income, but it is a huge regional draw(like you stated) because there is not a lot of options on the East Side of Cleveland for malls. Belden does well because the only other mall in that area is Canton Center, and I am not even sure if they are still open.
  16. Hold on, If I am traveling that far to do anything, it is for a reason. Crocker Park does well because it is very, very far away on the West Side and you HAVE to make it a day trip from Akron. Beachwood Place does well because its direct competition(Randall Park Mall), closed. Also, GP1, if you are going to use "Southern Summit County has the heaviest population," The first thing I ask is draw a line across 224, then look at census data on every community south. There is almost no way that can be possible. Bottom line, if a Sin Tax is even on the table, all we have to do is look at what happened to the County north of us. I watched a couple of days ago the WEWS video on the Sin Tax. I don't want that. Also, the one thing that noone seems to be talking about is the Civic. I promise you if they pecive this even be remotely a threat, the Akron Community Foundation(and they have serious weight) will jump in on this. If it ever get to that point, this whole ballot is D.O.A. in November.
  17. I have a question: Assuming he is the next President, could the Ohio Board of Regents step in and say no?
  18. There is one thing that caught my attention. I was reading the article in the Beacon and I saw this: “What are you trying to do, intimidate me?” He may have been joking, but taking a swipe at one of the few nationally know and respected professors in his field(John Green) is NOT to win anyone over! Myself included!
  19. I know that this is a sub-topic, but I will start one anyway. For those of you that was at the spring game this weekend: What did you think? I know that the Defense is always way, way ahead of the offense. However, other than one big run, I seen nothing, IMO. Am I wrong? Are they holding everything close to the vest? Am I paranoid? For the record, I have video of the game(I am surprised that noone posted this yet). Too early to tell? Just wondering….. The Game
  20. Nice!!!!!!!!
  21. IMO, I doubt it. The City is in the hole and do not have the cash.
  22. They really want a dome! Pending FAA approval
  23. I dont like it. Maybe it woulk better if was an actual jersey.
  24. What got me excited for next weeks game was a comment by Bowden at the end of the video: Link
  25. Hold on, That might work as a marketing gimmick! Watch one half, then have 30,000 for the worlds largest nap time for an hour!
