  1. Miami, We all know that they are bad this season. Really bad. They might be the worst team in the country this year. I have said form the start that this is an win. After the way the Defense played against NIU, this game should be no problem. Discuss
  2. Game started. After NIU goes three and out, Zips drive down the field and it is 7-0 Akron!
  3. Thank you grammar police! You are correct. I am an very bad speller at times.
  4. That is what I thought. I guess that it does not matter if they are one of the worst teams in the country.
  5. To answer your first question, I did not know that they had six now. I was under the impression that they still had three. To answer you second question, I said this because of an full feeder system. Not only for education. I believe that if the county did this. It would become the premiere community college in the country in short order(4 years). Also form the athletics side, you could have the feeder system right down the street and not do basically anything to get them.
  6. Northern Illinois, This season they beat Iowa and handed an complete beatdown of Purdue. Now they also had an week off and this is not looking good. We all agree that something has to give this season and could this be the game? Discuss
  7. What was Pohl thinking on that!
  8. I wish that I knew what they are thinking
  9. I just heard that C.J James is suspended by the NCAA FOR TODAY ONLY!
  10. Why not. I do not think that there is an rule against it.
  11. That would not work IMO Summit college is great, but an direct pipeline in town would be better. Think like as this: Tri-C is the big boy on the block. Akron could draw more people south on one campus instead of them having three. You half to look at the big, and long term picture on this one.
  12. WOW! The grammar police is out! But you are right, I should have said "where" only
  13. I have an outright crazy idea: When Rolling Acres finally closes next year and the City takes over, you will have a ton of land. Here is what I suggest: An Community College! Hear me out if it were to get on an countywide ballot, it would pass big! If would help The University Of Akron out because of the credit transfer and how they are redirecting students. Also it would help atrract more people and business to the area. Any thoughts?
  14. My question has always been "where at?" I asked this a couple of years ago(and got hammered for it) and I will ask again. Your options are to either put it west of Canal Park(and yes people will complain about that) or start knocking bulidings down. You are almost better off putting it on the old Central-Hower site. I do agree with you that the Canton Charge would move to Akron if built(like the Indians from Canton), however I highly doubt that Gilbert woulod be involved in this. Unless it is an whole complex(with hotel/cansino). The City has no cash and 5 years is down the road, if it happens at all. IMO, it would take major civic involment (I am looking at you Goodyear) to make it happen. Here is an thought you will have pleanty of land here starting next year!
  15. You know, Last week was an disaster in the second half and we all know that. However this week is an new week and it is Homecoming! To understand the Bobcats, lets look at the tale of the tape: If you take out the Louisville game, I ask the question "who have they played?" Here is the following this season: -North Texas -Marshall -Austin Peay They have an combined record of 4-8 this season. You might say that is not that bad, however looking at who the played so far says different. Other than Marshall playing Virginia Tech, it was stiffs playing stiffs and Austin Peay is that bad this year. Ohio had an week off, so they will be rested. I promise you that their fans think that it will be a blowout in their favor, I do not see it at all because it is an must win for the Zips. Expect an close game. Discuss
  16. Three things come out of this game, IMO: (steps onto my soapbox) At one point, we had our foot on their throats and could not finish them off. This is like the game a couple of years ago before the weather delay happened, then the wheels fall off. Which leads me to number two: What was that at the end of the first half with the "net" one yard punt. I remember that happening one other time, and that was an Arizona State/ Arizona game from years ago. I could find people playing street ball with an Nerf football could punt farther than that! From that point on, it was all downhill. Which leads me to number three: The defensive line did it's job, at least for a while. They got tired because of how long they were on the field. The offense did them no favors(see the third down with an Full House Backfield) however I lay blame on Mr Six Foot Nothin' himself, Terrell Buckley and here is why. I know that you got dealt an bad hand when you showed up, however, there is no excuse on how many over the middle passes that was given up. I know that that is not your actual coaching title, but at least with your deep experience, should have not only helped, but took over and came up with an plan. This game was winnable, very winnable (steps off soapbox)
  17. I agree. That close, you go for it, especially if you are running an full house.
  18. An full house backfield and you throw!?
  19. Not good
  20. I have a suggestion: NO MORE BUBBLE SCREENS!
  21. I take no stock in this article because if that was OSU, they would have been screaming bloody murder. That is a fact!
  22. At this point, it is an mixed bag for me. I put exceeded(in the poll) because of the Michigian game, but below because how the JMU game went. The can play with anyone in the MAC, just some adjustments have to be made. I still hold on to the 6 win plateau, even if the next thre games will be the hardest all season.
  23. You guys earned it. Will be another story next time.
  24. Akron(IMO), is the most dangerous team in the MAC this year. So can they take advantage?
