  1. And yes Dave, I know that the City has reported an debt level of 80 million(Mike Williams has told me that). I just believe that the city has more than that.
  2. Dave, I agree, however, I believe this only because I had no camera involved because of low battery life and it was on the record(because I asked before hand). You can say all that you want about getting re-elected, but he was honest with me and I have to take it at face value at this time. IMO, the city has no desire to build an arena, therefore, the University or the State has to step to the plate on this.
  3. If an new arena is to be built, it will not be by the city in any way. I spoke with Bruce Kilby(Ward 2 Councilman) at Square Fest today and here is what he told me(paraphrasing): The city is not even considering it right now. The city is a Billion dollars(and yes he said that) in debt and it is not even being discussed. I am thinking that the University would have to build it, or they go to the State Board of Regents and beg for the money.
  4. So basically what he is saying is that OSU should not play these teams because of the four team playoff starting next year? These type of articles is why I do not follow Cleveland media. I think that Bill Livingston is smart enough to know that even if they were way down when they played them, Rice and Pitt were once Football powers. He is contradicting himself in this article. No Football, but Basketball? I promise you if Akron, Ohio, Can't and Toledo want to play them in BB in an home and home, it will be the fastest no anyone will ever see. They can slam the MAC all they want, but the big issue is this is fear. Remember, once upon an time, even the Zips were basically an onside kick away of beating Ohio State.
  5. Two things stick to me in this article: One that they made no mention that the Rubber Bowl was way off campus. And 15k a game!? that is 50% of tickets sold. That is some low hanging fruit to go after.
  6. WOW! the Zips are playing city teams now!? Costal don't think to highly of themselves
  7. I agree Keener. That statement by her was dead wrong. Why even do this article if its being set up as a hit-job?
  8. I watched this video and I have a hard time believing that Dr Proenza said "why respect rules we don't like."
  9. This game is one of my "extra wins" this season.
  10. I should have worded that better. I meant by completely looking past a team.
  11. I think the 6 wins is very doable and here is why: Thu, Aug 29 at UCF 7:00 pm They have had a lot of chasos down there this offseason, so IMO, this went from a loss, to a question mark. L Sat, Sep 7 James Madison 6:00 pm Its there ATM game, the question will be, will anyone be there to see it? W Sat, Sep 14 at (24) Michigan 12:00 pm It is what it is on this one. They will NEVER let another App. State happen ever again. L Sat, Sep 21 Louisiana-Lafayette 6:00 pm Go on their message boards and see all of the trash talking that they are doing. In there defense, they are King Kong, but it's being King Kong in the Sun Belt. With all of the FCS callups, they better win at least 8 games, however, Akron will not be one of them. W Sat, Sep 28 at Bowling Green This is probably the most interesting game for me this season. Assuming that they are good as people say they are. Defense will be the deciding factor. Not there yet, hower the ball could bounce the right way. L Sat, Oct 5 Ohio 2:00 pm Their run might be over. This will be one of the two sellouts this season and it will be rocking for this game. The bobcats play Austin Peay before the Zips. They will win big in that one, but overconfidence is a killer for them. W Sat, Oct 12 at Northern Illinois 5:00 pm Did you know assuming that if they beat Iowa and Purdue, they could be undefeated at this point in the season? If that happens, it will be bad news. L Sat, Oct 19 at Miami (OH) Let's face it: Miami is bad, really bad. IMO, that was a win last season. Miami will be one of the worst teams in the country this season. W Sat, Oct 26 Ball State 12:00 pm My personal sleeper game. This would be the Zips shootout game this season. However, not there yet. L Sat, Nov 2 Can't State 3:30 pm Talk about getting lucky last year. Yes I know that they were good last year, however a blind dog will find the bone once in a while. Wagon Wheel, Sellout crowd all the makings for a win. Sorry Can't fans, but Can't will be back to being, well, Can't State this season. W Sat, Nov 16 at Massachusetts 1:00 pm Last year, this loss should have never had happen. Not this year. W Fri, Nov 29 Toledo Black Friday!? ESPN will make them play this game at 10am and that will not be a good sign. I have said for years that Never count Toledo out of anything. L Simple as that 6-6, but it could be 8-4. After all, this is the MAC
  12. I was thinking the same thing. Wasn't there a kicker that played for the Chargers that doubled as a LB?
  13. Say what you want, but getting an top 3 at any position is impressive!
  14. You really can't do anything about the teams in the conference, lest face it, the MAC West drags everyone down. It is what it is right now. As far as seeing better teams on the schedule, it is a long work in progress. As an example, when the Zips won 26 games and still could not get an At-Large bid, IMO that was a factor. What do you suggest? Play Miami's schedule from a few years ago? That is not going to happen.
  15. I would go nowhere that conference, unless they are able to keep P5 status, and that's ONLY for football. If a new arena is a condition to go to another conference, then you have to pull the trigger on it, assuming it is the right conference.
  16. I could see it happening(Even I brought it up last year about having an English Premiere setup), but it won't happen for two reasons: The first one was brought up in the article and that is Basketball. There is no way the NCAA would break up that cash cow. They know exactly what they got in that and why change it? The second one is the big one and that is Title IX. They would have to go to court and prove that if the break apart, they would still follow the rule. Yes the make a ton of $$$, but if they break away, the lower of the two would also go to court to try to have it overturned and the NCAA knows this.
  17. That is what I thought.
  18. I see 6 wins. Very doable. After all, this is the MAC and anything can happen.
  19. After reading the comments there, there seems to be a split between the Zips get blown out, or the game will be close. That is a good thing. UCF has had a ton of chaos within the last year and it remains to be seen if it will bleed over onto the field. This is not a guanteed loss. This game, due to all of the movements Bowden has made, now becomes a question mark and they know it.
  20. I agree. Al least it is better than Oregons court
  21. IMO, play the games, but only if the price is right
  22. That's my plan(the early crowd)
  23. There is a idea Spin, put it right in the middle of Joy Park! LOL
  24. Make it Basketball only and I am all in!
