Looks like anything can happen in the East this year. The voting was closer in the east than the west when looking at the top 4 teams.
-
I got the same flyer. It was really professional in appearance. The schedule sets up pretty well for a three game pack scheme.
-
buy season tickets! support the team!I have 4 season ticket. My friends want to plan a trip back to Akron for a game or two. Not selling tickets early is making the planning process tough.

Lately it seems, half the Nation!I think you are right ZW.It might even be more than that. We have a beautiful stadium, with lights that won't even be noticeable during the day. And at night because of the dark blue paint you won't even see the poles. The experience will be vastly superior going to the Rubber Bowl in every way but people have to find the negative in everything.I have noticed the 'grassy knoll' and 'light poll' threads and wondered to myself if they come off with a lack of gratitude for the changes or lack of perspective for where we were not to long ago, but I really don't think anyone intended to come across that way.I'm sure everyone, right down the line, will come forward and tell you how we don't take all this for granted. You just gotta remember that it's a slow period in the summer and people chatter harmlessly. At least we ar not the buckeyes! They have to truck in lights and the losses that come with them. Night games at the info will be great as will the day games.

Z.I.P.S. zips! Zips! Zips? Is that taken already?
-
I bet we couldn't get a 2 for 2 with western Ky even if we wanted one.
-
It's brilliant that the MAC is streaming this for free!To be honest...would people pay for a stream and/or watch a tv broadcast?
-
I think this is horrible. This Bizzaro guy is going to burn streaks into the Info's turf while torching opposing CB's. They'll now have to replace the turf every third game!
-
Max, U really have to learn the difference between cancelling and getting cancelled on. i'll work on that
-
Western Kentucky? We can't get a 1 for 1 to save our collective lives. They can get an SEC team (though one prone to cancelling) to play them in Nashville twice. Hell imaging the ammount of money two sold-out games at cleveland browns stadium would haul in for a MAC team. I know akron would like to have them in the info and all. 70,000+ seats in cleveland would really help the bottom line and recruitment of local talent.http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/foot...s.ap/index.html

I think they should paint it all blue and ditch the ugly gold from all athletic uniforms and signs
-
I agree 100%.

I'd disagree with us jumping the gun. It could be we lit the fire under their collective brains and got them to show some urgency. There is a complete lack of communication coming from the whole athletic department. If they don't want to personally give updates, they could leak the information to certain ZN members to inform. I'd help them on that front. I was trying to repent for harsh criticism on my part. See my walmart trash comment. I agree that they have done little to help their situation with die hard ZN fans but hopefully this is an indicator of future success.

We were pretty tough on them earlier this month for the apparent lack of action on the merchandise front. I now believe that to have been premature if this article is accurate and the action is timely. Good job to the zips athletic management team and keep up the good work. There have been many positive changes to gozips.com including the $25,000 giveaway and mention of preseason events for the general public.

To go along with this, many teams do a Pre-Game walk to the stadium from much farther away than 100ft.Plus they will probably walk to the stadium for pregame warm ups on the field then go to the north facility locker room for final game prep and speeches. Really no time or dramatic effect lost with this setup. The cost savings were very significant.
-
I don't see any problem with the setup. The entire year minus six days is spent outside of the stadium. Hell, if they do expand the info north the backside of the stands would practically reach to the field house doors.

Thanks for the input, PSU1. I was going to post on the CBSSports site -- somebody probably knows the exact number . . . .That sounds low to me. I realize that each contract situation is different, but I think we got $650,000 from Wisconsin last year.I was thinking the same thing. Wisconsin was $650k for a contract that was made quite a few years in advance. This game is a last-minute addition to the schedule, so I imagine the going rate should be a bit higher.Boise St. gets $1.25 Million to face Hokies at FedEx. Now that is a nice pay day for a team scheduling a one-and-done. We should have gone with blue turf.Stimulus money?

You are right. At least they ran an article. It was an interesting read with a suprise ending.

I think they have special buses for people who need to find the stadium. They are short and yellow and come with a complementary helmet.MaxZIP - It seems that most individuals who post on this site choose not to demean or defame others. You, on the other hand, choose to demean individuals with developmental disabilities for the sake of what you consider a cheap laugh. I will presume you simply had a brain cramp; if not, I would respectfully request that you keep your discriminatory comments to yourself next time.Yes. How insensitive of you MaxZIP - you big brute. Point taken. Just skip all of my posts to avoid any issues in the future.
-
You are right. We have no chice but to sit back and watch. I wish them good fortune.
-
Looks like they will miss out on 5 catches this yearyeah, but weren't Penn State fans saying that they were returning WRs with experience that weren't starters? I can only assume that this guy was one of the ones being referred to.Just trying to get a laugh. Losing a senior could only hurt them.

We just might get a front row seat to the mediocrity in NCAA athletics exhibit. We always wonder what makes a good athletics program at all levels of competition. I think we are about to find out that those in charge need to put in hours and really care about the task at hand. When those in charge believe and make sensible decisions anything can happen. I have tried to stay positive but am getting to a point where that may not be possible. I am still excited for the season though.

They had better advertise all games. Some people might not buy season tickets because of scheduling conflicts. at this point most people who are going to buy tickets have. Just look at the number of packages being sold over the past few months. They have been selling packages for over a year now going all the way back for the 2008/2009 package. By selling them so close to the opening game they are putting extra stress on the ticket office. Can they mail out tens of thousands of tickets in that small of a time frame? it is just under a month to sell and distribute for the first two games. Couple that with season ticket distribution (which seems a little questionable with pins holding you seat place) and there is a ton of stress on a department that may or may not be equipped to handle that kind of situation.

They are only bricking the support columns. Renderings showed glass between the columns, but I don't know if that will happen or not.Might be good for lighting if they do it like you say.
