Sorry for the loss. The Zips played hard! Certainly more competitive than recent years. Miss you all! Go Zips!
-
Unfortunately , I will be staying here in Ohio. No sun for me and I won't get to see him play.

It is a different grad degree. Bio-statistics. Medicine statistics. It has always been about the schooling. I want to thank everyone who has supported my son. He loves Akron. I heard him repeatedly tell reporters that yesterday. He will miss his teammates and wishes Akron nothing but the best. I also want to add that Coach Bowden has been very good to him. The Zips are in good hands! Go Zips!

Congratulations Brian on 1st Team MAC selection and your graduation next week!

My heart almost stopped too! And I am not there

Any national video/TV for the OSU game
ZIPFB#1 replied to akronzips71's topic in Akron Zips Football
It is supposed to be on ESPN at noon. I think that should be televised nationally. -
The cat obsession is the middle son "the illustrator", the youngest is the "iron man". Great article! I have always said I would like him to run the shot gun! I miss his running days... I wish all of the Zip fans could witness it. Maybe tomorrow with a pick!

Who on earth made that?! It's great! Allen (wags076) is the artist. Recently graduated designer looking for work. Has done plenty of web stuff and recently redesigned shoulder pads as a senior project. Made shoulder pads better with his concept by designing with advanced polymers that reduced the size and weight while increasing effectiveness. Plus he likes cats. I sure have some talented boys!

I am doing the same. Parking off of Coffey or Fyffe in surface lots. You have to get there before 9am to get in and get a spot. They fill up fast. Then meeting up with Akron fans in RV lot north of there. Also, if you come from south, another good place to park is go north on Neil- there is a garage on 12 avenue (left on 12th) and a garage at the end of Neil (also on the left). Usually can get spots in those until 2hrs before game. Come join us at the RV for pre game festivities!!

Why no discussion about Brian Wagner on Nagurski watch?
ZIPFB#1 replied to K92's topic in Akron Zips Football
They are the replica jerseys, so they are cut for the football pads. (larger top than bottom). They have all sizes , same as tshirt sizes. When I initially talked with Ashley , we set a deadline for this weekend so that we can get them before the first home game. But I am sure, they will take orders anytime. -
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Campbell family.

Why no discussion about Brian Wagner on Nagurski watch?
ZIPFB#1 replied to K92's topic in Akron Zips Football
I have wrote the equipment manager trying to get team jerseys ordered with name and number of 34. If I can't get them from the school, I will be ordering them from a sport store here in my home town. I will try to get them to look like the teams. If anyone is interested , please let me know. -
6 pack? You easily got time for 12! Now that's the enthusiam we need to see on the field tomorrow night! Throw in a couple of DReal patented machine gun blasts.... :gun: Go Zips!!! I am thinking at least a 12 pack! and maybe some apple pie!

Not looking for more tickets...just fun people!

BW could start at QB next week if he likes. Play the man whenever and wherever he wants. He is our best player and should be the leader of the entire team next year. Brian loves the game and maintains a high level of play despite the performance of the team as a whole. He never takes a play off. I feel the same way you do...but I know Brian doesn't. (feel secure) Thats why he plays like that every play. He does love the game and plays with heart. He has never played QB, but I would still like to see him in the shot gun!

Is everyone meeting in lot 9 again for pre game festivities? Any menu suggestions? I plan on being there and am hoping to see everyone!
-
I would not be so sure of this. I do not think anyones position is secure...even Brians.
-
I am still hoping for a miracle! Go Zips..pull out the upset!

As for Wagner taking the ball in and scoring on the wildcat..I totally agree! What a surprise that would be for the other teams! and a TD for us! Here is his high school records for all ohio divisons. Maybe the coaching staff forgot he can run the ball too. Agree with everything you have said.

Everyones chili in lot 9 was delicious! I am so happy to have met so many wonderful fun people! Tailgating is a blast with all the die hard zip fans!
-
I am guessing you will hear more to follow. They are dropping like flies.
-
I will be there! Add one more for chili.

Not trying to make any excuses but know of several key players yesterday that were sick. Allen, Nicely and Wagner to name a few.
