I might get bashed for this, but I would really like to see Rodgers get some playing time next week. I haven't seen any improvement from Nicely throughout the season, so why not give Rodgers a chance to show what he can do?

I agree with that. I really thought Nicely would be a better QB so far this season, but he hasn't shown much. I know we can't really compare Nicely and Rodger's performances from last week, but Rodgers seemed to have much better accuracy and had more touch, in my opinion. It would also be very helpful to have a more mobile QB back there to provide another threat. It's a tough call on what to do because making Rodgers the starter could really hurt Nicely's confidence, which could hurt Akron in the long run, but Rodgers may very well be the better option. I think Ianello should give Rodgers some time early in the game this weekend and see how he does. We are 0-3. What do we have to lose by giving MR a chance? I definitely think Rodgers should get a chance. The only fear that I have is that Nicely will struggle in the future if he believes that Ianello will pull him right away if he doesn't perform well.

The hatred that some of you have for Ohio State is quite comical. I can't even count how many times there has been Ohio State bashing in a thread that isn't even about them. Does bashing them make you feel better about Akron? Tressel has them consistently at the top of the Big Ten, so they're obviously doing something right. Sure, the Big Ten has been down the past few years, but it's getting better again. I understand that a lot of you get angry at the students and people that live around Akron that would rather travel to Columbus or stay at home to watch Ohio State instead of Akron, but can you really blame them? It's not like Akron football is doing anything that would make them want to choose otherwise. A large portion of the students at Akron were probably raised to be Buckeye fans, so you really expect them to give up rooting for the Buckeyes and only root for Akron? I was born and raised an Ohio State fan, just like my dad was, but I still go to the Akron games and cheer them on as well. And before anyone asks, yes I applied to Ohio State and got in, but there were a number of reasons why I chose Akron instead. I'm sorry for the rant, but the hatred for Ohio State gets ridiculous sometimes.
