We suck at FT...Absolutely suck

Chips wouldn't even be in this game of it weren't for their FT's

WAY too many OSU jerseys...

I love watching them play. Crisp passing, excellent plays, super foul shooting. OK, so they've got a ways to go on defense...

Can't State sues Geno Ford for $1.2 million

Dewey, Cheatem & Howe must have written this contract and Howard, Howard & Fine Esq, LLC must have represented him in court. -
BG @ Akron.... Buckle up, it's Orr no more

I agree re: The National Anthem. I give them points for singing, but then they ruin it with the "Home of the Zips." Yes, I'm older and have a totally different perspective than they do, but C'mon Man.. In the first half when the Zips were on their 27-2 run and BG called a time out, I jump up and am yelling and clapping. I glance around and I just start to laugh to myself. The "2-Standers" are all sitting ...... -

BG coach could have a T before the half. -
No, Charles says TURRIBLE, That's Jus TURRIBLE I could handle his passion minus the pre-game buzz. But, I agree with what you are saying. I'd love to be down behind French. That section gets FIRED UP! And, speaking of "mature" people, I can see from my vantage point that a mature woman that sits a few seats away may deck him before the year is out. She's a Two-Stander.

Is that the guy who always yells "Terrible! Terrible!" down in the lower corner?

Yea, I'd hate to play golf in Maui....

Tru dat.

Had to be the quietest 2.937 people in the history of the JAR. Sometimes, I get the feeling there is some unwritten code that you aren't allowed to yell and scream at certain games. I could go off on a rant here, but I'll just ask a question first: Why do people, i.e., season ticket holders, just sit like lumps and glare at you when you dare to yell?

How do you not get a shot off in the last 10 seconds of the game?

Looks like you won't have to shut up, after all. Good luck to Tree. He certainly got his share of breaks while he was here. I hope one day he realizes that. And, I hope, for his sake, that he gets a degree and moves forward in life.

I had the chance to watch the Zips Basketball Show on STO last night and Coach Dambrot used the exact same expression to describe Antino and Noah. Either he's reading this board or you have passed that along to him. Either way, you should be in line for royalties.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Akron 12/2/14
Glib Shanley replied to Staton14's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
Even though the crowd was small, I was glad to see a vocal AK-Rowdies contingent there. They brought some energy, especially at the start of the second half. Perhaps it was a coincidence, but it made it feel like a home game, as opposed to an exhibition game on a neutral court. -
Coach Dambrot in Beacon: “[Deji] has earned every minute he has gotten. There have been stretches where he didn’t play at all, some self-inflicted and some coach-inflicted. I respect him. I like his attitude. I like him as a kid. I like the amount of time he puts in the gym. He is a talented guy. He has got good stuff to him. He can drive it, shoot it and he is long. He is a good athlete.” I hope the guy who sits a few rows in front of me reads this.

I met Coach Pete years ago when he was an assistant at Walsh College, during the Huggins years. Even though it was very limited, he was the kind of person who left you with the "Hey, what a nice guy" feeling. A few years back he was at my place of employment dealing with an issue for one of the players. I re-introduced myself and he was as genuine and nice as he could be. As others have said, he is a class act and the legacy he leaves behind reflects what he believed and who he was. God bless you, Coach. Prayers for all.

I played. Nice course, but I'm not a big fan of Mulligans and the new "string game" that was introduced this year.

We received 3 different packages, each with different point totals. One for my wife, one for me and one for both of us. Is there some way I can get all this rolled into one account? I will also have to find online copies of cancelled checks to show donations that none of the 3 accounts currently show. Nice.

Prayers and condolences for your entire family. May God Bless you all.

As this is my first post, I will apologize upfront if it is out of line: First, i've been a season ticket holder for a few years, so while that fact doesn't give me any additional insight, I'm not totally a newbie. When i read this quote in the Beacon: “We were jittery to start. Big crowd. Can’t put the ball in the basket. Then showed quit. It’s as simple as that,” Dambrot said. “We didn’t shoot it well enough to play very well, but we could have competed better. We didn’t even try defensively; we had some guys who didn’t even try.” I didn't see it as throwing anyone under the bus. He used the word "We", he didn't give any names, he kept it pretty vanilla. As close as he came was saying we had guys that didn't even try. He seems to be dealing with a ton of emotional upheaval this year, starting with Dan Peters' battle for survival and going all the way through the ongoing rumors of Abreu's return. This includes the not-so-secret battles of Q, Tree and Harney. He's tried different approches, different lineups, different motivations, but for the first time in a long time, this team is not responding the way he's hoped. Being a true NE Ohio sports fan, I realize it's our custom to go after the head coach when things don't go right. But, in this case, I honestly do think he's trying a number of different things. Full Disclosure: I did have my picture taken with Coach at the golf outings.
