  1. F**KING A!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #BiggestZipsGoalEver! Please pardon my profanity. I re-watched this match again last week. Zips began this semi-final match in lackluster fashion, emotionally distant from the action. Justin Meram's goal was first class, but Zips' defending was really loose, giving him way too much space. Within minutes of Perry Kitchen's titanic blast, Kofi Sarkodie (ever forward) viciously slide-tackled a Wolverine player outside the touchline in the Michigan third. Sarkodie received a YC for the offense; maybe should have been ejected. From that moment, even though we were down a goal, I thought Zips were going to prevail and progress to the title match. Zips remained emotionally and mentally focused throughout the rest of the tournament.
  2. Best of luck to Jesse! Good kid. Had many chances to impress, but did not. Definitely D1 material, but not a starter for Zips. He will play 90 minutes every match for OSU. Mine is an admittedly arrogant perspective, but I think accurate nonetheless. Incoming MFs are more productive than Garcia. Everyone recognizes this.
  3. Steve Fricke was a really tough customer years ago, even at age ~40. I know this personally. For all I know, he is playing amateur leagues still. Some guys can just play until they drop. Last I heard he was a fireman out in Portage County somewhere. Good guy; bad adversary.
  4. F Bianca Owens: Scored 94 goals in 2013-2014 season. What?!?!?!? http://www.gozips.com/sports/wsoc/2015-16/releases/20160213000c19
  5. Former Akron women's soccer standout, Lani Smith, signed a professional contract with Vasteras BK30, a professional team in the Swedish first division, located in Vasteras, Sweden. http://www.gozips.com/sports/wsoc/2015-16/releases/20160304gglrm6
  6. So, the only no-show is Kei Kamara's nephew. I forget his name.
  7. So, Jurgen Klinsmann has his fingerprints all over Perry Kitchen's move to Europe.
  8. LOVE SPRING SOCCER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Victor Souto is 3rd team All MAC? Really?!? LOL! Where is that show you my ass emoticon when I really need it? Traveshamockery!
  10. Porter will know exactly how to utilize the often brilliant but lazy Darren Mattocks.
  11. I heard this on a broadcast last season. I presume this is still true, that Kitchen has played more MLS minutes than any other player since 2011. So, what if he is now played the 3rd or 12th most MLS minutes in the past 5 seasons? The point is that Kitchen is capable, dependable and durable, a good investment.
  12. I guess Marcel Zajac will wear #19?
  13. This is truly unbelievable! A player who has logged more minutes than any other in the MLS over past five seasons cannot find a job? Really? MLS rules are unique, unlike any other league anywhere. Player fulfills length of contract; plays through it. Parties fail to make deal. How then is said player restricted from signing with whomever he chooses? MLS rules are wack!
  14. Why must a player age 28 years to qualify for free agency?
  15. So, it looks as though he is off to Europe. MLS rules are baffling. How is it fair, or even rational, that DC United would retain rights to Kitchen without signing him to a contract?
  16. Surely some MLS team will snatch Perry Kitchen soon. Perhaps Klinnsman is pushing him toward Europe, but I do not believe so.
  17. Jeremy Pollard looks big, agile, and clean with both feet. Given the nature of Australian Rules Football, can one safely assume that Pollard can punt the ball very well?
  18. Jon Lewis is the supposed friend and teammate of Nicholas Hinds. He is the other guy in that Twitter pic.
  19. Any word on Jon Lewis?
  20. This is becoming quite the impressive list! Welcome Misters Laryea, Kamara, Perez, Sabbi, Zajac! You have joined a secondary family. And We Are Akron! #2ndStar!
