Someone please tell those blaring the stadium music to turn it off after a victory, so as to not interfere with the students chanting. Failing to honor this tradition is tantamount to disrespecting the program. Seriously! We submit the same. complaint. every. season. Are we training a new crew every season? I doubt it. I am not sure who to harass, or I would do it myself.

Akron 1-0 Seattle Seattle is much better than Georgetown. I never would have said that in the Spring, when Zips' schedule was made. This was a very tight match, with no daylight between the two sides. But for some key saves, Redhawks may have won. GK Ben Lundt is 100% better than advertized. I am actually a bit giddy at his potential, but I will save all the hyperbolic language banging about my skull. Both our Plantation boys (that sounds a little bad) got big upside. Let the love affair with NHinds and JLew commence. Adam Najem is AN10! That looping chip pass to Sanda was sublime!

I hope no one on Zips squad, player or staff, expects Seattle to be an easier opponent than Georgetown.

Akron 1-0 Georgetown Very entertaining match between two quality sides. Basically same style of ball from each. Zips had more of the ball, but not by much. Hoyas had way more possession than Zips usually allow. Both sides had just a few chances. Both keepers wowed the crowd. Zips converted a rebound with 36 seconds remaining. Match could very easily have gone to Georgetown. But Zips earned a result, if not the win. Embick had no freshman starting. This moved Najem to Forward. (Joke is that everyone at Akron is Midfield.) At the hour mark, Freshman Jon Lewis entered the match like he was shot from a cannon. Najem dropped to Midfield. Whole match changed right there.

Is Stuart Holthusen out for certain?

Well, what is the minimum seating capacity, in order to qualify for hosting CC?

I think we could fill out the bandstand with additional seating, bringing capacity to ~7000. That would be enough to host.

What was attendance per match in KC?

Fall ball, extended break, spring and post season. Love it. This will sharply increase collegiate soccer's developmental relevancy. And the season will not be so compressed. Bring it on! Akron could then host a College Cup.

Nervous I am! Hoyas want revenge for Zips beating them at their place last year. Zips lack cohesion in the offensive third. The final pass is not connecting. Zips need Stuart Holthusen to get healthy.
