Bubba.. 1 pt... streak of 34 straight Free throws ends...Dru bodied him up and had a hand in his face all nite... Bubba has to have 2 seconds and his feet set to pull the trigger with any accuracy.. think his former team mates knew that? OU fans are saying their team lacked effort tonite... nope we just brought it and they couldn't keep up.... Rock on Zips!!!!

Worse.. he's at WR at the beginning of the article and QB as the best player..."Top top pluck from the Pennsylvania haul is WR Bryan Williams, who was dissed by Pitt on a late January visit, and promptly committed his services to Akron. ""Best Player: Bryan Williams, QB"At least be consistent in the error... Followed by this gem: "But how do you sign 24 players, and not a single RB and only one QB, who was just barely considered a top 40 player in Pennsylvania?"Dude, you just listed Bryan Williams as a QB... and he is a RB!!!It's bad enough when other media screw it up but when the "MAC Report Online" does it, it's just sad.

UConn game is not a rumor. It is real. Here or there???

Have you seen our schedule for next year?? It looks like we only get four home games and 8 away games. All home games are against MAC teams. Indiana is too chicken to play at the RB, and Army wants to play at Browns stadium and call it a "home" game for us.Mack is holding out and working on a home game for the last slot... the UConn game etc is nothing but rumor... The Indiana game is part of the new Big Ten/MAC agreement for games when the NCAA went to 12 games. They can't back out unless the Big Ten approves...I would call Delaney and tell him Indiana can go if we get Purdue, Iowa or better to come in.For the last time, attendance reported for last season's games was TICKETS SOLD. The NCAA allows you to go with either butts in seats ot tickets sold. Corporate sponsors bought blocks of tickets to make sure we hit. As for actual butts, if the Rubber Bowel (not a typo) is 1/3rd filled, that's 10k... most games if you squeezed everyone together, you could fill 1/3rd... the other 4-5k is not that unbelievable. Also, future schedule still says @ Army for 2007. Til it says different, the game at Browns Stadium is a pipe dream. We couldn't fill the Bowel for them before, what makes you think anybody shows in Cleveland?? Maybe local bases get involved? Miltary schools etc.. but I see a game with Army in Cleveland as a disaster.Oh and NO YSU unless we can't get anybody else to come here. We were dumb enough to play 1-for-1's with them for years -- while I was in school. It was their SuperBowl.. Our coaches and players never got that -- we laid numerous eggs -- I have more faith in JD than Faust and Owens but-- We have nothing to gain by scheduling YSU... even if half of Youngstown buys tickets.....

The CMU game is on Time Warner channel 23 tonite... last year JD was on at halftime talking about signings and facilities...I'm setting the DVR!!! Think he'll be on with French too???

AU?? Game presented fine... Some people are never happy... Attendance-- 4,029.. looked full enough to me.. better than a 3/4 empty Bradley Center for UW-Milwaukee vs UW Wisconsin-Green Bay... (which made me miss the 10-1 Zips start,, thank you very much.)Wide shots shows the upper sections full and the lower bowl nearly full...By the way, my son and I bought seats in the "Blue hair" section last time out... $20.00 ea... great seats.. but a family of four drops $80.00... if they don't have season tickets.

Funny.. In football, there are 32 Bowl Games = 64 teams out of 119 participate 50% plusHoops? Only 65 out of 300 plus teams?? 21%Add in NIT and 97 out of 300 Still only 32%

First game I could attend this season.. My 8 year-old son and I had lower reserved seats behind Buffalo bench. Reggie was a cool customer... We never figured out why he got the T.. anybody know?? out of coach's box?? Lead ref sucked canal water both ways.... Linhart gets rebound -- he and 2 Bulls fall to the ground --- they land on him... Blind Zebra calls Nate for traveling. . and Ibihi... does the man travel everytime he gets the rock?Best AK Rowdies chant of the nite... With Yassin Ibihi at the line the Rowdies began shouting "Borat! Borat!"... He calmly knocked down both FT's. But I did chuckle.... What was frustrating to me was the Zips missed 13 free throws and at least 4 breakaways.... add 21 points and it would have been the blowout we expected.

http://www.thepost.ohiou.edu/articles/2007...orts/16484.html"“Of course this game means a lot more to me after leaving Akron, but we all want to beat them,” Walther said. “However, I can’t try to force things because of the relationship I had with them. I just have to play my game.”

Interesting read on scheduling:http://www.momentummedia.com/articles/am/a.../rightmoves.htmOn Weeknite Games: "Mid-major conference teams have also enjoyed terrific success playing weekday games. A classic example is Louisville, whose 2002 Thursday night victory over Florida State propelled the team into the national limelight. The Mid-American Conference is the undisputed leader in games during the week, as its teams play one Monday, five Tuesdays, five Wednesdays, four Thursdays, and two Friday night games this season (as we go to press). Nine of those contests are already slated for national television coverage.""EVOLUTION OF THE MID-MAJORSIt used to be that a school within a major conference could schedule a single-guarantee home game with a mid-major opponent, and give its team an easy win for the week. However, a few notorious upsets here and there have proven that the likes of Northern Illinois, Marshall, and others can be very dangerous opponents for the home teams from the major conferences. Never was this more in evidence than in the 2003 season, when on the same day Marshall knocked off No. 6 Kansas State, Northern Illinois beat No. 21 Alabama, and Toledo stunned No. 9 Pittsburgh. In response, major-conference schools are rethinking how to schedule an easy win. Some are choosing to play a I-AA opponent (although Furman almost upset Pittsburgh and Maine nipped Mississippi State last year). Now that NCAA rules allow a win over a I-AA opponent to count toward bowl eligibility every year, the idea is even more enticing. The downside is that most fans and alumni are not attracted to games with lower-caliber opponents, causing ticket sales, as well as related gameday revenue, to dip. Playing in front of uninspired home fans, the head coach of the host school faces a difficult task in getting his team ready to play in an environment that’s ripe for the upset. "2 For 1 's: "NEW IDEASAll these changes add up to some new ideas in scheduling football games not seen a decade ago. One option gaining popularity is the two-for-one series, in which a major conference school gets two home games and the mid-major school gets one home game over the course of three years. The mid-major gets the guaranteed paychecks for the road games to help their athletic budget, and the major conference school reduces its travel. The arrangement works especially well if the mid-major school has something to offer the major school’s fans. "

Just a little more fuel to the fire...http://www.ohio.com/mld/ohio/living/community/16260136.htmQ. Could the University of Akron derive funds for its proposed new stadium from the cigarette tax?A. It's no secret that the university would like to get a share of funds from such a tax to help fund its proposed football stadium. But it appears that all the money from the tax will go to the soccer stadium, based on the wording of the final legislation from Columbus.

Would we pick up the game BG is dropping?Would mean:@ Pitt@ Ohio StateIndiana@ Armyhttp://www.ncaabbs.com/forums/mac/phpbb/vi...pic.php?t=41563

Just saying there's probably only so much money out there for stadiums... If the soccer stadium is a "GO", then maybe some of the corporate sponsorship money dries up... or maybe soccer isn't a threat... I'd just rather have less competition for the $$$.
