The zips still could get a big DL for next year.
Other area players, which also will play for the South, include Lancaster's Tommy Stuck (OL, 6-2, 285), Newark Catholic's Derek Moore (DL, 6-5, 270) and Watkins Memorial's Joe Crawford (OL, 6-6, 245).
Stuck was named second-team all-state and first-team all-district and all-OCC as a senior where he started every game at center, leading the Gales to the OCC-Ohio Division championship. He'll play at Ohio University. He also won the Division I discus championship at the state track and field championships June 3-4 at Ohio State.
Moore, the Mid-State League-Cardinal Division Player of the Year, hasn't decided where to play his college football. He's been looked at by Akron, Ashland, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Dayton, Ohio and Purdue to name a few.
Crawford is versatile. He runs a 4.8 in the 40, which is excellent for an offensive lineman. However, he also averaged 39.2 yards per punt for the Warriors, earning him first-team all-OCC honors, as well as being named special-mention all-Ohio and first-team all-district. Crawford will play at Tiffin in the fall.
