  1. Great work Capn'. That is the best update on Zips football I have ever seen. The DL in question is Marlon Terry. He is a big strong fast kid from Akron Buchtel. I feel sad for Dennis Basch. I wish him all the best of luck and thank him for his dedication to Zips football.
  2. All I am going to say about this is if one of the Mod's post some information it is true. We will not and do not post rumors.......... As far as gozips.com not having an article about it I can not answer that.
  3. Oh Boy if the Zips has Dials from the start of the season look out. With him, Woods and Foust plus the other guys the Zips look deep and talented. And they have to coach to pull off a great season......

  8. I was reading another message board and somebody was talking about Brandon Foust. He is a 6-6 211 small forward at Oklahoma. He left the team at the beginning of the year after getting into some trouble. Rumor has it he is enolled at Akron and will be ale to play this year starting in Jan. He is from Columbus Brookhaven highschool s othis story could be true. Do anybody know anything about this young man???
  9. Experts think Zips are rebuilding this year.
  10. Garner was quoted in a Pittsburgh paper saying the an all star game last month was going ot be his only game this year because he was being redshirted. Really he is a Prop 48. Every year you have to take a chance on a couple guys whi would be playing at a bigger if their grades were not in order. I think we will see Coach Brookhart keeping a better eye on these kids than the former staff. Hopefully Balaam decied to stick at Akron. I thin he could be coming off the bench this season. Walker came in as a DL and then moved to OL. I think he saw the writing on the wall and decided to stop playing or move on to another school.

  17. Better Choice Capn' I see the MTSU game a better chance of a Win for the Zips.......
  18. Thanks Capn' you just mad me SH*T my pants......If Nate Robinson is the guy from Rutgers the Zips have landed a STUD!!!!!!!! Make sure you are sitting when you click the link!!!!!!
  19. I think his chances They Zips really have no FB on the roster with any quailty playing time. If he can come in and learn the offense his chance is as good as anybodys....
  20. The zips still could get a big DL for next year. Other area players, which also will play for the South, include Lancaster's Tommy Stuck (OL, 6-2, 285), Newark Catholic's Derek Moore (DL, 6-5, 270) and Watkins Memorial's Joe Crawford (OL, 6-6, 245). Stuck was named second-team all-state and first-team all-district and all-OCC as a senior where he started every game at center, leading the Gales to the OCC-Ohio Division championship. He'll play at Ohio University. He also won the Division I discus championship at the state track and field championships June 3-4 at Ohio State. Moore, the Mid-State League-Cardinal Division Player of the Year, hasn't decided where to play his college football. He's been looked at by Akron, Ashland, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Dayton, Ohio and Purdue to name a few. Crawford is versatile. He runs a 4.8 in the 40, which is excellent for an offensive lineman. However, he also averaged 39.2 yards per punt for the Warriors, earning him first-team all-OCC honors, as well as being named special-mention all-Ohio and first-team all-district. Crawford will play at Tiffin in the fall.
