He did that by using two quick subs to start the second half, bringing on defender Richie Laryea for winger Tsubasa Endoh, and the aforementioned DeLeon for Nicolas Benezet, who was playing a more attacking role at the time. Both Laryea and DeLeon were incredible for the Reds down the stretch, especially defensively,

All MAC games are super important so I will get this topic started early. Every game will be a challenge for this group of Zips. Northern Illinois has scored 7 goals in their last 2 MAC games so they can put some balls into the goal. The Zips goal keeper will have to be in top form and the Zips will need to score more than one goal for a "W" The Northern Illinois Huskies are 7-7-1 and they are 2-1 in the MAC you will see that they started their year with an 0-4-1 record..... that means that they are 7-3 in their last 10 games started their year with a 2-1 loss at DePaul 2nd game was 1-0 loss at Loyola Chicago 1-1 home tie with Wisconsin-Green Bay 2-1 loss at Dayton 3-1 loss at Marquette 2-1 home win over Bradley 3-1 win on the road vs. Purdue Fort Wayne 1-0 win at home in OT over Milwaukee 2-1 win in OT at Western Illinois 2-1 loss at Illinois Chicago (UIC is good ...with their best player being Jesus "Chino" Perez 5-0 home loss to St. Mary's CA (St. Marys is 12-1 and ranked in the top 10 in the nation) 5-1 home win over Eastern Illinois 2-1 home loss to SIU-Edwardsville 4-2 win on the road at West Virginia 3-2 home win over Western Michigan

David Egbo and Sammy Tojaga are not in the lineup due to getting their 5th yellow in the last game I have no idea why Carlo is not in the starting lineup

Wow....another goal to make it 3-0 at 89:22 Zips could be in sole possession of first place in the league after tonight Northern Illinois leads Western Michigan 2-1 on their home field at half time If NIU holds on for win, top 4 in league would be: Akron 2-0-1 2. NIU 2-1 2. SIU-E 2-1 4. WMU 1-1-1 if NIU holds on, that will make the Nov. 2 game against NIU....the biggest game of the year..... great win tonight....by the Zips..... they played without Marco Milanese.....and they still got a clean sheet way to go, ZIPS -

SIU-E is coached by Cale Wasserman This is his first year he had been the assistant at Michigan State for 4 years before their coach has an impressive coaching background. Was head coach at Div. 2 school and took them to the national finals in 2012. You can read more about his background below (if interested) https://www.siuecougars.com/sports/m-soccer/coaches/Cale_Wassermann?view=bio SIU-E has a current record of 8-3-2 they have scored 24 goals in 13 games (1.85 per game) in preseason, they had a high quality 3 -2 win over a top 25 team....Kentucky SIU-E started their regular season with a 0-0 tie at Michigan State 4-3 home win over Evansville 2-1 home loss to St. Louis (in 2 overtimes) 2-1 home win over Butler (in 2 OT's) 4-3 OT loss at Oral Roberts 1-0 win over the UM-Kansas City Roos 2-0 home win over Central Arkansas 1-0 home win over Western Illinois 3-0 home win over Valparaiso 2-1 road win over Northern Illinois 2-2 tie at Wisconsin 2-0 home win over Bowling Green trivia for you....I could not think of the team nickname for SIU-E they are the cougars their best player(according to top drawer soccer) is midfielder Jorge Gonzalez...5'11 senior from Valencia, Spain top drawer soccer has him ranked as the 50th best player in the country -midseason (ranking is for soph, jr and senior) Carlo is the highest ranked Akron player at #67 Gonzalez has 9 goals and 4 assists (wears #10) they have several guys with 2 goals Lachlan McLean has 4 goals for SIU-E (6'0 senior forward from Australia) Jorgen Petterson leads them with 5 assists (6'0 senior midfielder from Norway) -

way too early to be worrying about that.... Southern Illinois Edwardsville(SIU-E) is the league leader at 2-0-0 and they come to Akron Friday night Akron will have to play that game without Marco Milanese Carlo Ritaccio was not able to play today...not sure of his status for Friday SIU-E is a very good team. Jared is a great coach....and will have this team focused on one game at a time I am proud of this team. They had to play without a pre season all american at center back. They got kicked in the teeth at 44 seconds.... and battled back to tie it at half time they played 33 minutes a man down....against a team ranked #27 in RPI (and WMU had won at Michigan on Thursday night) these zips are fighting and battling proud of them -
