We gave up a few chances, a goal and a couple chances. We had plenty of chances and hit two posts and had a couple other looks. We don’t put them away — 12 corner kicks and didn’t get after it. This group under adversity sometimes didn’t deal with it the right way.” “This was like the whole year,” Embick said. “We’ll have to evaluate some of the mindsets, but in terms of the games and performances, I think it was similar to the losses this season. We had good looks, good chances in key moments to take leads and go up and we didn’t. “There were chances that went against us that were a little more clinical this year and we paid the price.” “We underachieved and performed below expectations,” Embick said. “Us as coaches have to figure out where we went wrong. The players have to look in the mirror and let people know it’s one of those situations that may come from time to time. “It’s disappointing, but we’re going to spend time, evaluate it, correct it and get everyone back to the level we can be.”
  2. great find, Blue and Gold.....on Jordan Seaman article below...has some more info https://www.mytownneo.com/sports/20191115/five-stow-student-athletes-commit-to-college-athletics While Seaman is a senior at Stow, he did play boys soccer for the Bulldogs, concentrating his play with the Cleveland Internationals academy. Seaman carries a 3.7 grade-point average at Stow and plans to major in political science/pre-law at Akron, while playing at left back for the Zips. While he also considered attending Wake Forest, Seaman said Akron was the right place for his professional aspirations. “I want to play professional soccer and Akron was the right program to help me get there,” Seaman said.
  3. West Virginia won 3-2 they were 0-4-1 in the regular season and are now 2-0 in the conference tourney.... every team is dangerous...when the season comes downs to win or go home
  4. Coach Embick has taken the zips to 3 college cups in the past 4 years. He was never voted coach of the year in the MAC during his first 6 years. Long overdue award....
  5. Congratulations to MAC coach of the year Jared Embick Colin Biros, David Egbo and Carlo Ritaccio were selected to the first team Daniel Strachan, Chris Lue and Will were chosen as 2nd team From my perspective, Daniel Strachan was the MVP this year for zips mens soccer. I feel that Daniel should have been MAC first team. https://getsomemaction.com/news/2019/11/14/mac-announces-2019-mens-soccer-postseason-awards.aspx

  8. https://aftn.ca/herdman-feels-tfcs-richie-laryea-is-only-going-to-keep-getting-better-as-breakthrough-mls-season-boosts-canada/ Canada national team coach - If you know him off the pitch, he’s just a wonderful human being that provides that foundation. He’s had a tough football story. His year hasn’t been an easy one and that’s where the grit comes from. You’re starting to see in this stage of his career what he really, really can offer. He’s going to keep getting better and that’s Canada’s win. Again, it’s just a wonderful story.”

  10. https://torontosun.com/sports/soccer/mls/toronto-fc/simmons-rag-tag-reds-come-together-to-challenge-for-mls-cup DeLeon was out of work, let go by D.C. United. Richie Laryea, a former first-round draft pick, was almost out of soccer, let go by Orlando City. Both now playing significant roles for the Eastern Conference champion Toronto FC. “They didn’t think I was good enough,” said Laryea of Orlando. “You had to take that. It’s a hard thing to accept. They didn’t believe in me and then I came here. When a team stops believing in you, you have to keep believing in yourself. “It’s been a challenge for me and Nick. The clubs we were with — we thought we were there for our careers. You think that way sometimes. You know one team. It’s all you know. It’s all you care about. And then they tell you they don’t want you. That’s heartbreaking.

  15. Congratulations to Coach Embick for his 100th win as the zips head coach.
  16. Diogo Pacheco was very good during his time on the field. Definitely man of the match what a scrum......on their near goal.... crossbar was the zips friend tonight David Egbo really worked hard on defense. However, the zips need to figure out a way for David to get the ball more in their half of the field Also, the refereeing for the match was awful. Zips were called 22 fouls vs. 9 for the home team
