  1. The replay of the game is on the Big 10 Network right now (started at noon).
  2. Ha! That's not what Craig James told me Ps. Joe Dunn took a "shot" at Ianello yesterday on his talk show. Called him the "Kansas Comet" (ala Gale Sayers).
  3. IIRC, they allowed us to "hyperlope" down to the lower bowl at some point during that "classic"
  4. Hope you don't mind me posting the youtube directly:
  5. I guess we're all still a little "off" since nobody has posted their BG beers yet. Here is my contribution: Breckenridge Autumn Ale (Very Good) Indigo Imp Gate Keeper (Fair) Hofbrau Oktoberfest (Very Good) If anyone is thinking about cooking breakfast for the NIU game, here are some ideas for pairing brews with your morning menu.
  6. I’ll post any thoughts of this week’s game in THIS thread, since it was the one started by an AKRON fan I agree with CK and skip that there is certainly potential for a big UA passing day at Peden. As CK also states, the O-Line also has to bounce back for this to occur. Perhaps the entire team was feeling some pressure to win last week (after all, some A-hole started a thread on here last week with “must win?” in the subtitle), leading to some of the miscues. I think this is a perfect game for the staff and team to relax and let it all hang out. OU will obviously have a big advantage in running the football if they choose. And it’s not like the Zips can simply try to crowd the box, since Tettleton (full strength or not) can hurt them through the air. But a few, timely safety blitzes (Coach Bowden admitted on this week’s show that Bre’ Ford is playing almost a linebacker role at times) would be welcome. Also, I really hope the staff is working on a few additional surprises, particularly on special teams, to improve our chances of an upset. We need to get as many possessions as possible no matter what it takes to achieve it.
  7. In general, the priority should clearly go to defensive players. But before I could even begin to break the needs down in greater detail, I would want to know the status of the players from the 2012 class who (apparently) didn't qualify. It's my belief that some of these D-linemen could be big contributors in the future. I've asked this question before. GT, do you know the status of these guys?
  8. UA polymer scientists and biologists team up on Spider Study.
  9. Speaking of the O-line, GT wrote a nice article about them in the Beacon.
  10. New USFL postpones 1st season until 2014
  11. You might say our Stein overfloweth! Don't worry about the spillage. The Lot 9 crew will take care of it (5 second rule).
  12. Line is down to 3.5. Interestingly, even though BGSU has a much better defense (ranked #38 nationally) than Miami, the O/U (64.5) is higher than for last week's game. Justifiably, people are now associating the Zips with a high scoring game, regardless of the opponent. I think the Zips will improve just enough to win: UA 38 BGSU 35 Our Stein comes through!
  13. Toledo Blade preview Apparently, BG is getting some receivers back (healthy) for the game.
  14. +1 The coach's show had a feature on Travis Switzer. Big props to TS67 for taking the center job by the horns, allowing the rest of the line to maximize its talent!
  15. GT article summarizing Coach Bowden's weekly press conference Presley practiced Tuesday It seems like Coach Bowden admits he was thinking about letting Miami score earlier to get more time for the offense: The old school people cringe at these tactics, but this is the reality of college football in 2012.
  16. It has to be Coach Terry Bowden's Papa! MDZip beat me with the buzzer!
  17. I think whatever idea you come up with should have bottle caps incorporated in it.
  18. Maybe they're boycotting the sight after it was sold earlier this year.
  19. USA Today has March as questionable for Saturday with no information on Presley.
  20. Due to the Indians game (I think) the Coaches show didn’t air on STO until today at 4:00 am. I taped it and watched it before coming into work, but there was no update on injuries from what I can recall. Regarding the show itself, I will say this once again. They really need to help Coach Bowden out with some editing. He’s doing the best he can when discussing the background of the previous staff’s players, so I expect a few gaffes now and then (this week’s was Dillard being a transfer from Penn St) when speaking off-the-cuff. But just a little editing would clear up these things on a pre-recorded broadcast.
  21. If we don't win a game pretty soon, ZipsWin! and I might each have a 50/50 shot at the crown
  22. Never bet against a home dog, except when it’s Miami at Akron on September 29, 2012 All kidding aside, BG’s #38 ranked defense (on paper) is miles ahead of Miami’s. But as you point out, their struggles have been on offense. I’m not sure if they’ve suffered some injuries on that side of the ball, but I thought they looked decent on offense against Florida. Over his career Schilz, while no NFL prospect like Dysert, has been a respectable MAC QB. He clearly is not a threat to run the ball, so that should help. It will be very interesting to see which of the two units (BG offense or UA defense) that have been struggling will be able to make a few plays in the game.
  23. I had wondered the same thing on that one. I guess I'd need to see a replay before knowing exactly when he was forced out (and if he accidentally stepped out earlier).
  24. I understand what you're saying and I remain as bullish on Bowden (I should think about getting the rights to that) as anyone, but if you can't suggest a few things that you may have done differently on a football message board, where can you? I don't see anyone (except akzipper) entering panic mode just yet.
