  1. Have you thought about submitting an official records request through the university?
  2. Aodhan Quinn - Louisville City Richie Laryea - OCSC David Meves - Fort Lauderdale Strikers Saad Abdul-Salaam - SKC Eric Stevenson - FC Cincinnati Zac Portillos - Tampa Reinaldo Brenes? Bryan Gallego? Robbie Derschang? Siniša Ubiparipović?
  3. Don't forget to wish Perry Kitchen a happy leap day birthday today.
  4. I don't know if he's 1st, 2nd, 3rd...... For a while now, I've been looking for site where I can aggregate data across multiple MLS seasons. I've yet to find one.
  5. Yep, that was the truck.
  6. No, it was a white box truck similar to a uhaul with two large Timbers logos on each side. Similar to this http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/box-delivery-moving-truck-713206.jpg It was on the Tallmadge Ave/Route 8 overpass just north of downtown.
  7. As I was driving on Route 8 tonight, I saw a white moving truck with a giant Portland Timbers logo on each side. Not sure why it would be in Akron. Hmmmm...
  8. Bobbleheads, while fun, would only help boost attendance for individual matches. What we need a promotion that would boost attendance for all matches across all sports, both men's and women's. For years, I had an idea for a Zips sticker book, similar to ones Panini produces for the World Cup, MLB, NFL and various cartoons. You may have seen these for sale at Wal-Mart and Target. The albums would be available for sale (and/or given away at the first match) and fans would receive a sticker of a particular player each match. To complete your album, you would need to attend every match. Perhaps the first x number of fans who complete their albums would receive a prize. The albums would also have a spot to write in the scores for each match; serving as a yearbook for the season. Certainly the logistics and cost will need worked out.
  9. Weather forecasts are predicting 20-25 MPH winds Friday evening.
  10. Saturday, vs BG, was one of weakest student crowds I've seen in a long time. The hill was sparse and families were spreading out blankets and lawn chairs on the peripheral. Usually students come out in full force to Friday and Saturday night games, but recently, their support has been lacking. In the Caleb era, he emphasized the importance of the student section and asked demanded that his teams were worthy of support and it was our job to be loud and to bring as many people to the games as possible. Obviously, Embick's personality is different.
  11. Me too. As an 8 seed, we would host the 2nd and 3rd rounds, but would still be in the region with the 1 seed.
  12. Looking over past brackets and seedings, I'm predicting the Zips will receive a 9 seed and host the winner of Dayton v. Indiana. If we win, our third round game with be at #8 seeded Georgetown, pending they defeat Rutgers or Monmouth. We'll be in the toughest region, of course, with 1 seeded Wake Forest.
  13. https://video.twimg.com/ext_tw_video/659958086283603968/pu/vid/1280x720/j-EbQA_aB-net8yl.mp4
  14. Remember when we didn't lose at home. I miss those days.
  15. Ask and you shall receive.
  16. For tomorrow, do you know of nearby bars near Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium that would be a good location to pregame?
  17. In case people are wondering...... 984 was the official attendance for the MAC championship on Sunday.
  18. According the match ups, Akron is seeded #33. Below are the seeds who are above Akron and didn't receive a bye (17-33) with RPI in parentheses. 17. UNCW (26) 18. Northwestern (22) 19. UAB (30) 20. St. Louis (25) 21. Oregon St. (28) 22. Dartmouth (27) 23. North Carolina (20) 24. Penn State (19) 25. Old Dominion (24) 26. Coastal Carolina (21) 27. UC Irvine (16) 28. Xavier (18) 29. Wake Forest (31) 30. Kentucky (32) 31. San Diego (55) 32. Ohio State (29) 33. Akron (23) If you reshuffle this list based on RPI, here's what you get: 17. UC Irvine (16) 18. Xavier (18) 19. Penn State (19) 20. North Carolina (20) 21. Coastal Carolina (21) 22. Northwestern (22) 23. Akron (23) 24. Old Dominion (24) 25. St. Louis (25) 26. UNCW (26) 27. Dartmouth (27) 28. Oregon St. (28) 29. Ohio State (29) 30. UAB (30) 31. Wake Forest (31) 32. Kentucky (32) 33. San Diego (55) In this scenario, The Zips would be 10 spots higher and host, based on location, Hartwick in the first round. They then would have either Syracuse or Charlotte in the 2nd round.
  19. Zips away at Ohio State. Winner plays at Notre Dame.
  20. Early in the first half last night, one of the leaders of the Rowdies was told he was "blocking the isle" by, I believe, a MAC representative. He then argued with him for a few minutes claiming he wasn't blocking the isle. The student, I don't know his name, but he regularly is seen on the hill leading chants, then walked away toward the opposite end of the field and was followed by the MAC representative. The MAC representative stopped the student on the walkway near the Zips bench and the student was not seen for the remainder of the match. I believe he was ejected. Also, three or four times during the first half, a university official told the rowdies they could/couldn't sing this or that chant.
  21. It looks like the MLS just renewed the domain akronfc.com for another year. Does anyone know why?
  22. Does anyone know where I can get a 2012 soccer scarf? I was given one as season ticket holder, but I need another for a friend. At the Michigan game I saw a student-worker behind a table with a box full of scarves. I asked if they were for sale and she said that they were only for season ticket holders. Are there that many season ticket holders who didn't pick up their scarf? Nevertheless, the bookstore has scarves, but they aren't the same and cost upwards of $35.
  23. A friend and I are planning to be at the tailgate Saturday. See everyone then!
