  1. I love the honeymoon period! Can't wait to get this thing started.
  2. I think this is well said. I think this administration has done a good job overall. I don't mean to throw them under the bus or anything like that. Their hiring and signings of all of the Akron coaches are top notch. They have done a fantastic job. Also their gameday crew are fantastic. This was just a small thing. I guess you guys are right, I felt betrayed but I think I was in the wrong.
  3. And curse myself? Hell no. The ERA of Ianello is not over still. The majority of the same players are still on the field. The majority of administration is still working at their desks. There is a huge problem and looking the other way does not help address it in my opinion.
  4. I feel as if people here think this is Rob Ianello's fault. That since he is gone it is OK. This is not the previous coaching staff's sole fault, this falls on everyone involved. Especially the players who will be taking the field this year. It's like they don't even care about the school or the program in general. And using another source while giving credit to them is not hearsay lol.
  5. http://akronsportsnow.com/wearing-ohio-sta...is-a-big-issue/ This is a big issue, and it needs attention.
  6. The big question will be whether or not there will be a pocket to throw in next season.
  7. I'm not sure about that assessment. I clocked him at 5.6 seconds running from the 38 yard line, diagonally, away from a defender. He certainly does not have NFL speed but he hits the hole hard and has enough turn in his legs to create plays that should not have happened. But I have learned two things long ago. 1) I'm an optimist 2) Never judge a player by his highlight tape. I would love to get my hands on some game tapes and see how he does throughout a football game. I see him as a B- right now, nothing great but can help a football team when put in the right position to do so.
  8. Students should not have to pay for this arena. It should be you alums on this site, making your seven figure salaries. I already have to pay more for college than you did to enter a job market that is far less than you entered. Pay for it, have something named after you.
  9. AKRON HAS HIRED A NEW SOCCER COACH
  10. This is what us Bengal fans call a 'Low Risk' move. If he messes up you cut him, if he plays it straight you have a superstar in the making. I don't see much wrong with it.
  11. Justice fits in at the three point line.
  12. One of my favorite writers cashed this in today about Ampai, I thought it was funny.
  13. So does this guy have four years with our Zippers?
  14. Yep, I said it earlier, I hope he is the next Jordan but something is just not right.
  15. Unless he is on, say, an academic scholarship it would count towards the scholly count.
  16. Does he have an obsession with our women's coaches or something?
  17. Pfau seemed so passionate about getting UA women soccer to break through into the national ranks. And he was the right man for the job. I don't know who they are going to hire, especially at this point in the off season. This is a big loss to the program. I wrote about it again, sweet pic in this one! http://akronsportsnow.com/hired-away/
  18. HAHAHAHA I didn't get it from twitter. It came from a horses mouth. The twitter readings (that I can't even get to because they are privatized) are just to add extra umph to the story. Anyway, Akron pretty much just confrimed it to me. Meaning 'we'll have more later wink wink'. Not that I needed it of course, I have always been 100% certain.
  19. Surprising? it's down right shocking!
  20. http://akronsportsnow.com/breaking-chris-p...s-akron-soccer/ It is unclear why, but there is reason to believe he did not tell his players.
  21. And we are starting to fall back, now 69
  22. It can happen. I've heard that this site played a big role in getting Zippy her national championship, now lets get College Game Day to Akron! Vote here everyday, tell your friends and family to do the same! http://www.gamedayvote.com/#_=_
  23. I was 'working' today and was thinking about the possibility of a good, Akron Zip football team coming to fruition in two to three years. I have been told (I'm only in my second year at Akron so you know where I'm coming from) that Akronites actually do like football when played well. And even buy tickets to see it. So I pictured a pretty full Infocision Stadium and thought about how football is the real money-maker in college athletics. In most schools, football funds most sports. Then I thought about the soccer program. Obviously, soccer has proven that it does not need football to be successful. But what would a good football program, that is bringing in above average money for MAC schools, mean to the soccer program? Would it help them in that the extra cash will be around to disperse? Or could it hurt the program. Is it possible that a good football team could push soccer down the ladder in Zips fans hearts, and even placing them as the 'second sport'. Thoughts?
  24. Any update on this, it appears that he has decided to go to Hawaii. If his twitter account is J_Tee2, he retweeted a tweet that he was going west.
  25. The Ohio ball clubs are not doing too well this year so far. The Reds are in 20th place (27,141 average), while the Tribe are in dead last (18,219 average) in the MLB.
