  1. Maybe it is because I have never had to face anything like this before, but I find it hard to believe that if the scenario does play out and the Zips do win out besides the MACC, that they would be left out. Dayton, Xavier, Cincinnati have all fallen off the face of the earth. That can only help. EDIT: And if the Zips RPI is going to get down into the 20's...come on now.
  2. And something else to keep in mind wadzip, yesterday was a winter storm emergency. It was pretty bad out there. Yet they still pulled in 4,000+ for NIU. things are... (looking up)
  3. Yeah, as a respectable columnist, I'm going to go ahead and say that Akron will probably never lose again. Ever.
  4. I took it upon myself to ensure to shake every newbie hand. Plus I had people on the other side saying hello to people also. We Rowdies are committed to opening up the flood gates. There was some complaining that the new students were not chanting and raving during the game. I say take it one step at a time. The fact that the home side looked like a student section last night was awesome.
  5. Nope, we gave out all the bands that we could. Even if someone begged to come down, they could not have.
  6. The reason why they moved the students to the back door is because paying customers were upset at the language and behavior that some students displayed. Allegedly. Also, what did you guys think about today huh????? Student Section= SELL OUT.
  7. No surprise, "in Northeast Ohio, football is in the DNA"
  8. I may be in the minority, but I think it is good he is not playing his best basketball right now. Remember last year he just went off in late February and March, I think he can repeat it. This idea can be instituted for the team overall. I'm getting pretty excited about what we Zip fans are about to witness.
  9. I think the MAC East deserves two bids, but I don't think it will happen.
  10. You think we win those games against Georgetown? I pray that the players do not have the same attitude you do or it is going to be a short March.
  11. Zeke entered overtime with four fouls and still was able to be effective on defense and offense. Great job by him tonight.
  12. Zippers hit 78% from the line tonight, are we happy or no?
  13. MAKE THE MAC ROOOOO THE DAY!
  14. I can imagine that losing 10 of the last 11 games to a team can cause some feelings to be hurt.
  15. So being in a section with students your age, in an atmosphere that invites friendships will lead people to feel lost and isolated. But sitting by yourself in GA won't? Edit: and to the clique part, I promise you it is very easy to make friends in the Rowdies. Promise. there are only like two jacka***** in the entire group.
  16. Because they're student seats...
  17. It's really, really hard 1) go to the person handing out wristbands 2) ask for a wristband 3)answer the question "Band side or home side" 4) put on wristband and find a seat. However, even with the complexity of the situation, students are able to use that college education to figure it out.
  18. Every game I have attended I have sat in the student section. I must be a miracle worker or something.
  19. Columbus is good with me!
  20. That's also an arena problem.
  21. It was seized, but they just moved it firstrowsports.eu.
  22. A few thoughts of my own. I like the discussion here, I too feel that MAC refs are poor at what they do. I also think Wednesday displayed it. I also feel that the Zips are immature to a point, but I will also say that they play their best basketball when in the clutch. If they have taken a ten point lead by halftime, they seem to slack. However, when they are down ten points, it's like a whole different team is on the court. Take that for what it is, but it is going to serve them well in the close tournament games we Zip fans are about to experience. To the trash talking...I'm not sure if I want to watch a team that's professional, well mannered Englishmen. Diggs needs to do whatever it takes to step up his game and get motivated. If it is jawing a little bit then so be it. MO.
  23. I believe the Zips can win this game in many different ways. Making shots is obviously important (when isn't it ) But I also like the idea of running up and down the court. I think the Zips will be able to break the grind it out style that led to a 41-37 final when EMU met Toledo. But I am also interested in keeping an eye on how the Zips react if the Eagle defense gets to them. How visibly frustrated they get and the sort. That type a game can do that.
  24. Only because all the good teams beat each other up in Cincinnati and NEO can pick up the scraps.
