the way i read it just states that one or two businesses are willing to work with the university/city. in other articles i have read states that the businesses on the other side of the street ( the side the stadium is to be built ) are not willing to sell or move.and i am also scepticle about the reasoning for the fan base argument. yes i do think that attendance will go up. but i am not so sure that it will always be like that. you have to win for people to go to the games. the new stadium will only help the cause for the first 2 to 5 years. after that, no one will care to go to a game just for the 5yr old stadium. i dont care how close the stadium is to the dorms. if you dont win, people wont come.

I agree with whoever said that we need to devote more of our budget to basketball. I hate to say this but our football team doesnt draw any support and they dont win. The only reasaon we won the MAC a couple of yrs. ago is due to others choking/injury. (such as the bgsu qb that year). And not to mention their inability to maintain a DI status. Then if I am not mistaking they build them $2Million offices? Not much sense in that. And I ask anyone, what is the basketball team getting? They deserve it. They are the program that this university is going to have to ride. Soccor doesnt bring in $$$. You have to go where your bread is butterd. Then other sports can develop from their success. ie Florida and OSU except at a smaller level.

no i have it right. dials was the oshaa poy for D2 in 2003. lebron was ohio basketball for 2003.

no i looked it up. dials got player of the year. lebron got mr. basketball.

what about mcknight? i thought that i read somewhere he broke some school records wherever he is from and made the all-state team. and if im not mistaken linhart was on the all-state team. and i know dials was. actually i think dials made all-state 3 years with the poy his sr. year.so right there we have 3 more added on to make 6... might have to check mcknight though and maybe even linhart.

there is no way Rome is going to play in the NBA. this is almost comical really that some of you are even thinking this could happen. 1) he plays no D. and no i am not just talking about on the guard type of player. he plays no post D in the MAC what so ever. he gets is block shots from helping off of his man from the backside - or on 5'10" guards. in the NBA those are dump downs for dunks all day. 2) He has very little offensive abilty as well. 85-90% of his buckets came from lob passes from our guards while dumb defenders would front the post with no one behind them. i got tired of watching those plays from the stands. sorry, but that isnt going to work in the NBA. 3) he is what... 6'7"? not going to happen with someone with little heart. kind of like most of you said. there is really no more to say to that. i dont care how tall or fast you are, with no heart you arent going to make it. barkley is 1 in a mil. -kind of off subject, but who said wood had heart and could make it in the NBA? come on fellas. you cant be serious on either of those. Does he dominate games at times? yes. but what happens when he gets someone on him with equal foot speed, height, and or strength? and equal not better. he is like the sun in the night. heck, just look at his buffalo games. and adbihi or however you spell it is awful. then if you go to the ill-chicago game he doesnt even play? come on. i dont care what the reason was (unless someone in his fam. was suffering from something or he had a broken bone or whatever) you have to play that game. but i have to ask the question though.... or was it because ill-chicago had 2 7' post men? not saying that is the reason for sure but it sure does seem awfully fishy. but there is no way you could even say he could make it in the NBA or that he has heart.

regardless what the reason is, he is playing like a first teammer for sure. i think that he just took a back seat for the better for the team. just think with him, rome, dru, wood, ced, nate all going for points? dials is more than capable of putting points on the board. against big time programs he seems to show that best. Miss St., Clemson, Cal, Louisville, Temple, Duquesne (SEC, Pac10, A10, BigEast) he had excellent games. Not to mention the 15 point game he had at OSU against Bob Knight as a frosh. i think zip37 thoughts could be accurate as well. think about it...Carson Palmer got all that attention for getting back in 7months. Dials did it in 3months. When i think about it, it is just unreal. i think he needed time to recover. if he keeps working i cant wait to see him next season. and i am sure he will with his well known work ethic, attitude, and toughness. nickname for dials??? read before you post my friend. im not saying that you cant say "so and so had a bad game" "why was that shot taken" "why isnt he playing more" or whatever. but time and time again you get posts saying that so and so cant stand him and he sucks and i everytime he gets in the game when we are not up by 30 and blah blah blah. that has nothing to do with the game. and to be honest, if the players read this junk, it isnt a confidence booster to see negativity written about you by your own fans.

first off i dont think that he was taking a shot at dru. it was just an example. second, who cares you dont say anything during the game or not. every time i get on this site for the past few weeks all i see is rybac bashing. and yes by those who claim to be rowdies. no you dont have to give him praise and kiss his @$$. but you can keep your mouth shut about dementing statements. how big are you for that anyways? to say something when your face is hidden and on a subject that most people on here have minimal knowledge about anyways (basketball). bottom line, rybac is a zip. just like dials, dru, rome and all the others. they always dont do the right things all the time but they are zips. whatever your feelings are on any of those players should be put on the other side of the door when talking here, or anywhere else based on their performance on the court. and granted, they dont need us to kiss their feet everytime they do something right either. keep your personal dementing comments to yourselves. good post ziprowdy.

Mcknight is not going to be taking any of nates minutes. He is not a 3 man at all. cant handle the ball or even pretend to guard a 3 man. it is conyers, rybac, and dials. yes he can shoot, but there is a lot more to the possition than that.

how did the miami and cant games come out this year? did they split? if so could miami win out and cant fall to a 4 spot? i dont know how that would work if it is a possibility at all even.

not saying that rybac is great, but, why all the knock on him? he does just as good as conyers. conyers has given us nothing at all all year. no D, cant hit shots, and is just like a deer in headlights out there. conyers has this little stretch without linhart to prove himself. if not, rybac should def. be behind linhart in the rotation. i think that the 3 guard lineup will hold up for us from here on out for this fact... every team from here on out plays with 3 guards for the most part. Can't does, duquesne, buffalo. its not like they have big lineups. but we do need some production from our bench to spot min. here and there.

not that this makes any difference, but i heard that it was just one finger. his thumb at that. also heard that he will be out for this game but will be back after 2 or 3 games. i think this could be a neg turned to possitive if we can get off to early leads in each of those games. if not, our guards could get tired in playing in close situations. and they are the ones that need to be in the game in those situations. with that said, big props to Nate for finishing that game out with a boken finger/thumb/whatever.

but that isnt the way you do that. you have to rest during your off days. by this point in the season you know what you need to do night in and night out. the great thing about this team is they can play many different styles of basketball. they know their plays, situations, other teams they will play. they need to rest between games, not during them. that wouldnt make sense to work hard in practice then rest during game time. all these guys need to keep up on is shooting. rest between games.

Well something isnt adding up here. he loved basketball so much that he wanted to play baseball in the summers to give up a chance to play aau and lose chances to get a schollie? not doubting that he got a baseball schollie or anything but that sounds contradictory dont it? even then, KD does seem him every day and plain and simple he doesnt make the cut. this discussion has been going on way too long. enough is enough.

well thats pretty much what you are saying here. we needed to play our best players yesterday. the rest shouldnt come at game time, but during the week between games.

they need rest at the expense of a loss? makes no sense to me. I dont see the problem for him playing his main guys. to me the problem is rest during the week. i would suspect the zips will be fine with not as much 'practice' and more shooting days. this would help rest the legs of our 7-8 man rotation. we will be fine. i have a feeling KD knows what he is doing.

sgm, nevada payed no attention to him. quit trying to make an argument from nothing. goddard is exactly what quickzips says he is. he is around 30% in real game situations (that is time excluding mop up time). he plays no defense and really does nothing on offense. so tell me the sense it would make to put him in the ballgame. there is none. give him a chance to play 5-10 and see what he can do? that is what happend in the begining of the season. the nevada game you mentioned, niagra, and a few others. do you think if he did something to help KD would keep him out? give me a break. I too am tired of the nonrealistic goodard facination. i like him, he is a zip, but it is not fair to him to put him on such a high. just drop it already.

i would like to know what efficiency rating you are talking about? Dials is twice the player that bubba is without any doubt to basketball-smart people. if you dont believe me think about these 2 things....1)no matter what is said for stats, there is also no efficency rating for defense. and from what ive seen Dials is the best in the MAC on the D end. granted i get to see him for every home game and not all teams come to the jar. and we all know the D bubba plays. He doesnt even know of the word. 2)Dials shoots about 5 shots a game. he is still avg. 9 something. if he was involved in the offense or on a team that wasnt well rounded (and yes a team) he would be avg. at least 13-15 a game. and without looking i am sure bubba fires up around 10 shots a game.

couldnt agree more. however, their arena is def. better than the one the Zips play in night in and night out.but on the game...romeo played a romeo type of game which is all off. and no def. i have no idea why he doesnt play sound D instead of getting ready for a block shot all the time. 1) that is the main reason for DQ. the other night 2) he puts himself out of rebounding possition and 3) it puts pressure on the other 4 to help off of their own man to save him. he was very unsound. wood played solid. he couldnt cover the pick and roll well all night. he kept letting his man seal him for easy post entries. that hurt us and i believe the reason for going zone. linhart contributed well on the def end, but it looks to me as if he is struggling to find confidence on the off. end. i wish he would shoot the 3 when he is open instead of a shot fake when no one is 7ft. from him. let it rip with some confidence. 3 guards were good as usual. got to rate these guys together. handled pressure well. dru and dials seemed to get frustrated as there was no movement for entry passes. dials tried to force one to linhart on the wing and dru took off to the basket with his head down... not fault of theirs though. we need more movement to keep these guys from gettng stranded out front with the ball. contrary to what you might read, dials and dru made many good passes. including numerous post feeds. ced struggled again tonight. but he will come around. just let him get into his own. i wish he would let the game come to him when he is in one of these streaks instead of trying to get a quick shot up to get him in the flow. he will be fine come march. bench play was the key to me in this game. we got no contribution off the bench. milum was scared for the most part. at least that is what i saw from the 3rd row of the stands. same with mcknight. those two need to contribute on the glass, D, and score a few buckets a game down low. conyers plays like a deer in headlights. it doesnt seem like KD has much confidence in him either. but this is where we got beat last night. we need solid bench contribution if our NCAA tourny dreams are going to be fulfilled. as much as this one hurt, we need to move on to the next game. we got lucky that Kant lost to stay one up in the east. if we win out we can possibly be the #1 seed which is huge in Cleveland. no hangovers tuesday.

If we thrive on Woods 'leave it all out on the floor play' next year we will be lucky to hit 15 wins. He doesnt play hard at all. Only at times when he has the ball does he want to play. Next year isnt going to be a good year for the zips at all. And I dont know if anyone here has heard the latest on the rumor mill, but I heard that Dials is done after this year. Is there anyone out there that is close to him or something and can confirm this? I heard he will be graduating soon and will be leaving.with Romeo, Dru, Dials gone I would say we dont have a backbone to stand on as far as leadership.
