  1. I'm tired of the fouls...let them play refs...BS there's all the fouls on Akron.
  2. These announcers have been incredibly anti-Akron.
  3. I tried finding where I posted it on the other page...with little success...but I believe Buffalo will be on our schedule next year based on the matchup history we have in the MAC. Every year we have four OOC games which we know at this point: Pitt, Penn State, Marshall, Howard. Every year we face these MAC east opponents: Can't, Miami, Ohio, UMass (which is what used to be Temple's spot) That leaves 1 more east slot and 3 West slots. We should expect to play buffalo next season for the last East slot. Based on the scheduling trends, we should face EMU, WMU, and Ball St. (Ball St is a toss up for me, it could be CMU at that point as well.) Of course I don't know anything but I used the shcheduling trends to predict this year's schedule months before it was released, and came up 100% accurate, so here's going for it again! MAC Schedule: Can't, Miami, Ohio, UMass, Buffalo, WMU, EMU, Ball State (I would gladly be wrong with my prediction if it meant we got CMU instead).
  4. Hah, we were probably crashing the page because of our voting and someone finally caught on.
  5. We really should avoid political commentary here guys. C'mon! We're all Zips, and we all know we want Obama second guessing his pick of whichever team plays Akron in March because of the games he watched in Hawaii!
  6. I don't get why anyone is surprised...today's performance was EXACTLY like about just about every game for us last year. Do you guys not remember being down 20 to Buffalo at home...on LeQuit Bobblehead day? Do you not remember having similar first half outings against Ohio (twice) Can't (at Can't), Ball State...The Zips are a second half team. One thing that I will say though: I'm over Carmelo Betancourt. I really wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but I honestly feel that the slow start is almost entirely because of him. I know he's only a sophomore...but now's his time to show us what he's got.
  7. I actually like this ALOT. This plan is using the picks exactly how the Browns need them. There have been way too many lost 1st round potential searching for "The One"...always to strikeout in the end.
  8. Bowden will retire an Akron Zip. Mark my words.
  9. Though I might be a minority here, I do think the Browns are headed in the right direction. I'm shocked that anyone is outraged that the Browns are 4-10...I knew that was going to happen when they traded Richardson. That was reaffirmed when Brian Hoyer was injured. The fact of the matter is, the Brows have a good defense, they have a LOUSY offense. Any fan out there who tries to put any of the losses on the defense in insane. Yes they folded when they needed to hold most, but the defense shouldn't have been put in half the positions that they were my the inept offense. I've been a browns fans since 99, (before then I was too young to remember the browns...6 years old) And I know how much it hurts, how angry I am that nothing has changed. However I DO NOT believe the Browns will never turn it around. With a 3rd string QB, the Browns were in contention with ALL the players they currently have. Bess, Little were both effective when the ball was spread around. Cleveland needs a QB that can go through the progressions, and a running game that is respectable. Can ANYONE really say that they are surprised at this year's outcome? No. 1 RB traded (actually seems to be a good deal) Best RB prospect (Dion Lewis) out before the season begins...There is a lot to this Cleveland Browns Team that should not be overlooked, that DID NOT exist in previous years.
  10. They also say that the Zips had 5-7 wins, which is AS MANY WINS as they got in the last four seasons combined. Which isn't true. 3-9, 1-11,1-11, 1-11, adds up to six wins...not 5. It's apparently always fun to bash the underdogs. I mean it's lazy reporting, which is the vast majority of communications in general these days. Facts be damned when your a reporter, because it's not like anyone is going to fact check you.
  11. Bleh...boring video. Last year's was so much more engaging I thought.
  12. The very fact that we have to have a conversation about lost money because of our "darling" ranked team getting "upset" in the championship game, just about sums up all the problems with college athletics. It's not supposed to be about money. Pure and simple. No wonder everything is so screwed up in the NCAA.
  13. The MAC should learn something from this. When you give your "best" teams an easy schedule...you really have no challenge. You're setting the "best" teams up to fail.
  14. Well they also didn't clear off seats except in certain areas of the stadium...How about we start recruiting Canton McKinley kids and give 'em a reason to come watch the Zips...
  15. I'm one of the Tressel haters, but he's warmed up on me the past several years...perhaps because I see him sporting Akron gear? Anywho, I would 100% oppose him being our president. I would 200% support him being our AD.
  16. As a current student/soon to be alum, I would like to point out that it was Black Friday. Most students have gone home for the weekend, and that's just a sorry fact. Students are not going to make a trek to the stadium to make a trek back home for the rest of the weekend (like home home). Especially for a 4-7 team. I was surprised as many students showed up as is. Early season success is key to keeping our students interested. Bottom bowl student sections were filled for the first two home games (J. Madison and ULL). After the ensuing losses, people lost interest. Next year we have a legitimate chance to start strong, and I think students will start coming out of the woodwork.
  17. But that would be fair. That would be equal. What on earth is the incentive for the big schools (State Ohio, Alabama, Florida, etc...) to give up their choke hold on a system that only benefits them?
  18. Agreed. Which is why the current NCAA system of deciding "National Champions" is absolute malarkey.
