  1. CB, the worst..ever
  2. Would be nice if we had an offense, ie ball movement.
  3. Never would have thought of longing to see Akron's video stream, but this is ridiculous. The white uniforms are washed out to the point if there is a white player for Ohio, he is invisible
  4. so I am stuck in a hotel and watching that feed, it looks like someone is pointing a camera at a tv and rebroadcasting the TWC feed...awful
  5. I know I could shoot better at the three than these knuckleheads, it's 19' 7" or something like that, how do you air one from that far...
  6. 2-18 from 3, our "marksmen" suck, you hear me Kretzer and McAdams...I do like how the Ball St announcers know what we all do, this isn't the same Akron teams from the past, meaning be lucky as hell to get back to the tourny with this mess
  7. worst point guards we have seen on this team in a long long time
  8. you too McAdams
  9. man do we miss the drug dealer, this team would be so much better with him. Kretzer, please start making wide open 3's
  10. yes and we all can agree that their arena may be the most hideous thing ever built. Could you imagine if that is what you have to live with for 20 years? Get the name of that architect and put him on the no contact list!
  11. yes, we need to set up the live feed fund
  12. props to the video feed as opposed to the crap Akron has at home, nice camera work on the dance team!
  13. lol, yeah right an Akron team at the line?
  14. this team has got to start knocking these down if that is the only offense they will run. Kretzer and McAdams have got to be better, they need to be those guys that hit the three ball when wide open...you know the type: that an opposing team has, and when they get an open look we go "oh no"
  15. video is choppy for me, I decided to not brave the warm weather we're having and watch a little online
  16. I have not seen them play, they would be the favorite right now to take the MAC in Cleveland. I think a focus this year is to look towards next year if we can get Tree and Harney back and get some chemistry going without Zeke. This would be the transition year. I wasn't planning on going to high school gym, I mean JAR tonight, but I may make my way down there to see what this mess has become and see if there is a way out.
  17. So back at work today and the discussion after the Browns disaster was again on the ability for this regime to take this basketball team to the next level. My co-worker made an interesting observation about the Hudson kid at St. V who is going to Va Tech, "that is the kind of talent we need to stay home and play for KD." If you guys have seen him play, he is quite talented, but he is going to Va Tech, not the basketball powerhouse IMO. If we were at the next level, does that improve our chances to land a local talent? A side question, don't we have a connection to St. V
  18. Ditto, you can tell there is something missing here this year. I hope the adjustments will be made by end of the year.
  19. We are simply asking the question, can he elevate this program anymore? We are a one and done team in the NCAA, but hey that's something I used to think I would never be able to say (Zips BB and NCAA). He is not a "God" of basketball coaches, if that is the logic, what would be the coaches at Can't State or OU who made decent runs in the tourney be called?
  20. And mind you, I am not calling for him to be let go, I do seem to look at our ass't coaches and wonder the same, if we had Shaka and Jeff still here with the talent we now have...just random thoughts after watching that garbage this week in Hawaii. My thoughts on not filling up the small arena we have...I hate sitting on the bleachers in that glorified high school gym. I would bet we 'd see an increase in attendance just with a better place to sit/restrooms,eating..etc
  21. Ok, I enjoyed reading this thread from post 1 till now of how optimistic things were (getting 2 wins vs. SC blah blah blah). I thought we would have a drop off from not having Zeke and the crutch he gave us for 4 years of having such a dominant player in the middle (at least defensively), but this is not shaping up to be our year to repeat at the Q Arena. Something just doesn't seem right and I will lite up the board with this comment. I think KD has taken us as far he can. It has been a major transformation for sure from the Hipsher/Crawford years, but as I sat back and looked at the coaching staff there seems to be something lacking. I think of how poor we are fundamentally (turnovers, horrible passing, free throws). I see absolutely no offensive sets on this team, bunch of guys standing around chucking three's or blowing lay ups. 0-26 vs. ranked teams is what someone posted here, c'mon, even the blind squirrel finds an acorn sometime as the saying goes. I hate the fact that in our staff's mind it comes down to 3 days in Cleveland every year, well maybe if we knock out some of these games vs. ranked opponents, especially on a neutral floor, maybe we get a look at an at large bid. I am not as into this season as I once was, and I think it will allow me to sit back and see if its not a coaching staff thing that's the problem. We absolutley need some help at the guard level, with KD, it has been a sore spot for a while, a legitimate wing player that can score (yes I know its every teams wish, KD has done a decent job at recruiting at the 4,5 spots, but never the 2,3 IMO) Time to get everyone to chime in, and trust me I love what KD has done for the program, but I was posed a question at work the other day..."what if KD had went to VCU and Shaka had stayed here as an example, would this team be in better shape today?" Just made my wheels turn a little bit after I was asked the question....now your turn.
  22. You nailed it, so tired of this. This team eventually needs to find a wing payer that can penetrate and either take it strong and score or kick it out and after the defense collapses on him wide open jump shot to whom he passed the ball to. I think Q is the only one capable of that, you could argue Harney, but he'd dribble the ball out of bounds. To my point here, even if he had this player, McAdams and Kretzer are the most likely people to receive the kick out and they are so inconsistent its sickening. Those two guys should be raining three's all day long in that scenario. My thoughts on the season, yes we have beaten the teams we should have, so we get good grades there, the teams that we need to beat to elevate the program... 1-3. I understand ISU highly ranked, MSU on the road after a long trip, and SMU at 3am...all have valid excuses for not winning, but how long will it take to crack that ranked opponent win? For the MAC, we will have our work cut out this year to make it to the championship. Hoping we do it again, but not as sure as I was in years past.
  23. The Big Dialer...I love it....
  24. The MSU game was a game that they took us lightly, the other OOC "Big" game was FSU in the NIT if I recall, again a team not wanting to be in the NIT played at a sub level. The teams that are prepared for Akron..St. Mary's, Oral Roberts, MTSU, Creighton.. beat us almost everytime, these are the games we have to start winning. My thoughts on Zeke, his development was hurt when he lost our low post coach to OSU. Last thoughts on KD, a friend of mine who isn't necessarily a Zips fan, but follows the game from high school to the pro's asked an interesting question....is he another "Marty Schottenheimer"? Gets us to the dance, but can never win the big one?...I had no answer except I hope not..One of these days we break through, was my thought
