  1. I too liked the TD arena, I wasn't there, but looked it up. I would look at a 5 to 6k seat arena that is similar. We are at historically low interest rates and I would like to see the University make up the shortfall (from donations and naming rights) with a bond issuance. Never going to be a cheaper time to issue bonds than now.
  2. yuck..had a lot of opportunities to take the lead in the last two minutes, was a lid on the basket for them tonight. These hurt against a fellow mid major
  3. I sent an email to the AD on the video feed, worst in the MAC, maybe D1. Although I like hearing French and Joe while they are in commercial break tonight
  4. I like TD arena, maybe like Dave said, a little steeper pitch on the seats (make it a pit), but I like the "balcony" and around 6k seats, would be great. Looked up the cost in 2014 dollars, 50 million or so. Make that $49,999, 900 after my donation
  5. No kidding idiot, if I could, I would move. I do enjoy rooting for this garbage year in year out. So the drought since the 60's for a championship in major sports for anyone living here is fine? How about we just focus on soccer at UA. Hey, we were national champs and have been to the NCAA's where we actually win games there unlike basketball. All of you are lying if you haven't thought what it would have been like to grow up in lets say Alabama and have nice weather and a national sports team year over year. I choose to root for the teams I went to school at and where I live by birth, just happens to be one of the worst sports regions in recent history.
  6. oh well, always next year, right Northeast Ohio sports fans? It sucks living here, nice weather and great sports teams.
  7. what is the age of the guys in the booth for Akron? are they still in college?
  8. Can we lose the flashy helmets and go back to something normal as we have no flash, spark, pizzaz, whatever you want to call it.
  9. Can you imagine how bad we would get rolled in a bowl game, if they somehow become eligible? This team has went in the toilet over the last month. Just another reason why I loathe the amount of bowls.
  10. As I said after Ohio 6-6 at best, as it said on the graphic on TV, Bowden says the progression is lose big, lose close, win close, and finally win big. He thinks we are in between losing close and winning close, I agree. This team got our hopes up, but really just an average team this year. Let's hope the the trajectory continues next year as we can win 7 games next year. Time to turn to basketball now, really wish they could have gotten the arena on the ballot today and maybe could have had one thing to cheer for tonight if it would have passed. Night all
  11. What will be the worst is Can't playing in their bowl game aka the Akron game, and winning to keep us out. I would normally use the term for Cleveland teams (OIC), but maybe OIA? (only in Akron) Ok enough nightmares, Halloween is over
  12. I made it to Detroit for the bowl, and would love to go back. I think tomorrow we will have a small crowd, weather and the last two games have and will dampen things (guess which is which ) I am hoping for turnaround for sure, if Woodsen plays, I am hoping to see what the staff sees in him. I know the medical conditions surrounding concussions can be complicated, so I won't go into the debate that rages on this board. I had predicted only wins vs. UMASS and Can't was all that was left after Ohio, but I hope I can eat some crow and get to a bowl game this year.
  13. I was torn a new one last week for ranting, hmmm not alone now I guess. 6-6 was my guess at best, let's hope they can turn it around. I am out of town and just caught the score, Woodson doing well again?
  14. L zip happy with a tight game, I am sure I saw you up at Michigan to see the zips lose in tourney.. You know I am so fake of a zip fan, as I have my gear on and the zips flag up on gameday. Been a die hard fan back to Huggins and Owens days, so whatever. Just pissed at a game we should win
  15. Sure I am I need to vent, I take akron losses harder than most of you. I am tired of this, yes they came a long way from Ianello, but my god, no running today and a game you have to win if you ever want to turn the corner in a program as I am yelling at my kid to not bother me, so you can call it trolling, while you are happy with us being competitive
  16. As I go to every home game, and see a loss at Buffalo and Ball St, no way they stop BG, win at Can't State and u mass, there you go. Walk on qb tore us up today and Amato must go
  17. And have you seen him, looked like garbage last week and this week. You don't have a kid of his talent throw 50 times. He would be better at a qb draw every play
  18. Ohio owns us, zips become first tesm Ohio ever has beaten a team 7 in a row, lol. Zips will finish 6-6. Way to go terry
  19. Here comes the bloated qb, can he do it
  20. Nice to have a field goal kicker the coach has confidence in
  21. Deserve to lose, can't beat Ohio ever. Terry was terrible today, no running no field goals on 4th down. Woodson is awful and just as people start to talk about this team doing something this year, what a joke. Have fun at the worthless blackout game.
  22. Would love it, but zero chance in this economy to pass. This has to be a trial balloon (the funding) the negative comments on Ohio.com and even in my own work space of guys saying no way. I do like the idea of Jim Tressell getting it done with a combo of corporate and UA financing to get this done. Now on to the 70 some million and 9000 seats, we have had threads on here with design or examples of other arenas, curious to re-visit those with examples of 9000 and what that would look like. I tell you, locally for those of you have gone there, tell me if I am wrong, but the Canton Fieldhouse is the loudest basketball arena I have ever been in, not sure if its the ceiling being closer than most, but wow is that a loud place and would love to see that design in a modern setting. I like the Eastern Michigan arena too, although, what 200 people attend I think the price tag and # of seats are a but steep, but I guess we are trying to think bigger and it would be an arena for sometime and would hate to have undercut the arena size in case the team gets to that next level. I think 7500 is more ideal imo. (more closer to capacity each night) I hope this goes forward, would be great downtown...my avatar is of memorial hall, another classic arena
  23. I will take anyone over the mess we have currently at PG
  24. As I watch UCONN and UM knock three's down from all over to advance deep into the tourny, I can't help but think about Kwan, Kretzer, and Reggie out there on the floor next year at the same time and hopefully able to stretch the D. I really would love to a 6'9" guy like Kwan be able to go inside and out; that would cause major problems in the MAC. Would love for that to be a focus next year, the three is incredibly destructive, I just hate those two teams I mentioned and they can't miss from the outside. (I hope I jinxed UM by the way by posting this)
