Those WMU jerseys were the first thing I thought of too when I saw the new jerseys but it looks like our font might be slightly different (and easier to read in game action).

I just noticed the Tank when I took a second look at them. I was gonna mention it but it look like you beat me to it. Certainly a nice touch there.

Zips drop their first midweek game, 5-2, at Marshall. Zips are now 12-12 on the season, take on Canisus at Canal Park tomorrow at 3 PM.

Now we need to sell some new football merchandise. You hear me, UA Athletics????

I forgot they were showing all USL games for free on youtube. I want to watch some Dutch Lion games to see the Crew players on loan there.

I didn't even really notice the texture on the jersey. I think we should label it as a tire tread even if its not.

Zips have two midweek games this week. Away against Marshall and home (at Canal Park) against a good Canisus team, who are 17-7. Midweek game results can always be a little deceiving as teams use their fourth and fifth best starters (saving the top 3 for the weekend/conference games) but it will still be interesting to see how they fair against Canisus.

I wouldn't take any stock in those jerseys. I think they're just generic jerseys to bring in a few bucks if anyone is willing to buy such an ugly thing.

I've noticed they've been getting some great pitching this year from a couple of younger pitchers. Good signs for the future.

Yeah Class B is a solid league. I played in there for one year (both summer and fall leagues) but the cost was too high. Do you know Eddie Rovnak? I think he plays for the Ohio Glaciers college age team (18-22 year olds). I played high school ball with him.

Now that I can tell that it's navy blue and not black, I'll give it a 9 of 10. Something about the size/placement of the Z looks slightly off to me.

Where/who do you coach in Youngstown? I'm from Youngstown and played all the way up through high school and Colt leagues.

Definitely a GREAT start to the conference schedule for the Zips. I hope they can win the series finale tomorrow but even if they don't, the series is still a success. It just seems like they do just enough to get the wins. If they get a good pitching outing, they score just enough runs and if they have a rough outing, the offense picks up the pitcher. And they also have just 3 seniors on the team, I believe.

I would guess its because the renovations at Canal Park going all the way up to opening day for the RubberDucks. They still haven't finished the renovations last time I saw it. That takes any games before April out of the question and then after that the Zips can only play when the Ducks aren't at home. I think you will see more games there next year.

If its a dark blue Z, I give it a 9 of 10. If its a black Z, I give it a 6.5 out of 10. I would like to see the Z be slightly bigger in either case.

Lee Jackson needs work all around. That field isn't suitable for a Division 1 college baseball team. I know college baseball isn't a popular sport but you still need to spend a little money on the facility if you're going to keep the program. The first thing I'd do is at least bring in a couple sections of metal bleachers. That wouldn't cost much at all and would be a huge improvement on the old wooden bleachers that seat maybe 50 people.

Today's game at Wright State and tomorrow's home game against Malone both cancelled due to the cold weather.
