Wow. Terrible. Last year UCLA dominated the game and we lost 4-2. Looks like more of the same. We will be lucky to be ranked in the top 20 after this performance.
-
Seems like we are getting opportunities just not finishing. That is better than Friday night. We didn't even get any opportunities (or very few).
-
Very disappointing. What is with the lineup that started the game? Hinds should be starting....period. But that being said we deserved to lose this game.
-
Agreed. This lineup leaves something to be desired. Where is Hinds, Lewis and Perez?

I thought Perez played well in the second half. I think you could tell about Hinds talent in the second half as well. I look forward to seeing these two again on Friday. Let's hope Mr. Lewis gets some time up top as well. -

Is Souto returning? -
Let's hope we can get one or more additional recruits.

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like things are getting better with this class by the day. By the way it was good seeing you in VA, Akron and Kansas City this year. That Phil guy is a good guy?

TennZip, Does Akron have anyone else ranked in the top 150?

Tournament seeding

I agree with your assessment but the NCAA is consistently inconsistent and I am preparing myself for a 9 -12 seed although I absolutely think they should be a 5 or 6 seed. -
Agreed, I think we will be fortunate to get a top 8 seed if we out.
-
A few other notes. UCLA is a good team, I just wish Richie and Radjen were playing. Najem and Souto played well. We just have to learn from this game and move on. The goals are all still on the table.
-
2 more goals for UCLA. 4 - 2 Bruins. Defense was not good today, multiple breakdowns and overall lack of speed. Not sure why Radjen didn't play but him not playing really showed. Numerous times our defenders were beaten too the ball. Not good at all and extremely disappointing performance considering what was on the line.
-
Agreed great video quality and announcers were generally pretty good. Any idea on Najem's condition? It looked like he was walking off the field after the game with something on his shin? Not sure if that was him though.

Great win!!! 2-0 -
Agreed, very disappointing game. The first 45 minutes were dominated by Wake and it seemed like only with 30 minutes left in the game did the Zips play with a sense of urgency. The final pass into the box was just not good enough. Possession seemed to be lost quickly and it was a sloppy game. That being said the Zips were very close to scoring in the final 20 minutes (so was Wake though). I didn't think it helped that the overall refereeing was horrible. All that being said, looking at the entire game as a whole the Zips were outplayed and Wake deserved the win. Does anyone disagree with that statement?
-
Disappointing game to say the least. There were multiple opportunities for the Zips to get a game winner. Agree about the sloppy defending and overall lack of possession. Large crowd which was great. I believe the Zips will learn from this. Let's beat Wake Forest.

First goal was from an odd angle. I don't think Akron was ready and seemed a little off at the beginning. The goal was within 2 minutes from the opening kick. It was a run down the left side to the touch line and then towards the goal and he angled it over the keeper. Like I said tough angle, not sure how he scored, since he was practically on the touch line. The second goal was a bad one. Victor had the ball at the top of the box, got it stolen off of him and Jake made a great 1 on 1 save but the rebound was put in. I am wondering if Akron was still on a high after the last win. After about 20 minutes they dominated and for the majority of the second half they had a great opportunity about every five minutes. They definitely deserved this win. Let's hope this gets them in the top 10 in the poll this week. -

Sept. 8 NSCAA ranking

Does anyone know for sure if the coaches voted after the Maryland game? I am guessing the vote was due before the game and the record is just a current record. I could be wrong though. Just typical ranking garbage though. -
Suspended due to yellow card accumulation. I believe he will play on Sunday.

Good game by the Zips, great night for soccer in Richmond. There were opportunities by both teams that were not capitalized on. The VCU fans could not believe Gainford's second goal. They also weren't too happy about the game winner. Good start to the season. Go Zips.
