I'm glad you like to entertain yourself. Maybe if I was 30 years younger, and was embarrassed and looking for redemption because I disputed a report on injuries that ended up being correct, I might decide to act just like you. But I'm not here to amuse myself. Like I've said many times here, if some people would use this board as a source of sharing information, instead of a platform for getting their immature kicks from being confrontational, we surely wouldn't have lost most of the people we've lost here. But please, feel free to carry on. Have a nice day.

I think you're still reading into way too far, although I completely agree that MAC fans and Sun Belt fans will take some interest. Stations are all about total viewership. Period. That's how they attract advertising dollars. But regardless, you did entertain me with the Redneck Randy reference. I'll have to remember that one.
-
That might be your personal preference, but I'd be absolutely astounded if internet-only games were even remotely comparable to TV games in terms of viewership. Let me just add this, while also addressing Kreed's last response: The "Joe Schmo" college football crowd sitting on their couches on weekday nights with their Busch Light beer in hand doesn't give a sh*t about Akron, App State, Buffalo, or Georgia State. Many of them don't even know that it's a D-1 football game. They flip through the channels looking for an entertaining football game to watch. That's it. End of story. They don't even care about the outcome (unless they are gambling ) It's ludicrous to read into this much further and think that any significant number of these people know anything about what's happening in the MAC or Sun Belt, the current status of theri conference races, their players, their current record, or whether one of them gave a competitive game 8 weeks ago to a P5 team that everyone knew was overrated anyway. If anyone thinks that these people are thinking "I have to watch this game...it's a pivotal game in the race for the Sun Belt title", I'll call you a little crazy. Most of the nation, I assure you, doesn't even know (or care) about what's happening in Kalamazoo Michigan yet. Besides the money, the only thing we gain out of these games is a little attention. I'll have people comment about our uniforms, our mascot, or that we have a funny name, or that one of our receivers is fast, etc. But, you're giving way too much credit to these "weeknight football fans" around the country if you think they are in any way knowledgeable about the implications of any of these games.
-
One could easily buy into that thought, if you also assume that the national TV audience is clamoring to see Sun Belt games at a much higher clip. We should know this because we talk about it all the time. The vast majority of the country has no idea who's leading the MAC or the Sun Belt. Or, that Akron and App State even played each other this year. At best, I'd say it's anyone's guess which game would get a higher number of viewers.

What football fan, who is not a fan of any of the teams involved in tonight's games, would go to the internet when there are already games right on TV? I sure hope you're not thinking that these games could possibly be evenly watched.
-
As always, you're entitled to your opinion, but how are you 100% sure that this high school game would outdraw Akron/Buffalo if you say that you don't even know what high school game is being broadcast? I don't think anyone is wearing blinders. It's just disappointing that a high school game and a Sun Belt game get pushed ahead of us, even though I did already acknowledge that our opponent tonight may have influenced that decision.
-
Except that nobody else sees us. I think that's a big deal. I have clients on the other side of the country who talk about how much they watch the MACtion games on weeknights in November on TV. It's the only national exposure that we ever really get. So, that's a huge difference.
-
That sucks that we are playing 2nd fiddle to both a high school game and a Sun Belt game. I'm sure our opponent this week didn't help either. We'll certainly take the money, and we need it. But, when we are essentially getting ZERO publicity, there's really no other benefit to us to be dealing with a weekday game on 4 days rest.
-
And our receiver that fumbled in the 1st Quarter was "AJ Conley"
-
I'm watching the broadcast replay of the game. In that first minute, yes, Woodson was "Woodside", but also Natson was "Watson". Go to about the 8:50 mark to hear and see the "Ulysses Grant" reference.
-
Ever since that game years ago when Darlington Nagbe got the ball kicked at his head from close range during a play stoppage, and Bleum said that it should have only been a Yellow Card, I knew this guy was an a-hole. I love beating him, love watching their two busloads of students going home from Akron every other year after another loss, and love keeping the long undefeated streak against the Suckeyes going strong.
-
Here you go. For you creative folks, I pulled the image for you.
-
I'm sure someone who's very crafty could pull that image from the game replay. I'm also picturing how funny it would have been if the real Ulysses Grant was also pictured next to the info. about Gilbert. And again, I'm sure one of you younger folks could probably put together that graphic as well, for our amusement.

For the most part, it would be hard to say that the Edwards/Morgan tandem has been anything other than surprisingly effective carrying the load for the running game. I'm thinking this is the way to go also. But strange things seem to happen in Buffalo. Even coach acknowledged that.
-
Kreed, I think you have the right approach. I actually didn't know anything about the Marcus situation, so I never commented on it. Others obviously knew, and reported it here. Sometimes I know other things that people don't know about. That's the nature of a fan forum.
-
You claimed I was "spreading rumors". Now you claim that you already knew everything about the 2 injuries ?? If you knew, then why didn't you make a correction since the information was not correct when it was first reported on here? That's what I did, and you challenged me. So, obviously you didn't know. Do whatever you want on here. It's your posts. Have fun.
-
Yes, two more DLs down after the WMU game. That's what I reported, and it was correct. ITZ called it "devastating". You can call it whatever you want.
-
Nothing in this last paragraph came from me. Yep, just spreading more stupid rumors, just like you accused me of doing when I told you we had a couple more DLs down after the WMU game. Have at it, if that's how you choose to use this board. That's your choice. Not everyone on here has the same level of information. If you feel compelled to challenge it, do whatever makes you happy.
-
Or, maybe some people don't know some of the things that have transpired over the last month or so concerning that situation, but somehow still feel compelled to challenge everything that's posted on here. Dr. Z....if you read my post more carefully, I already said that I wished his mindset was more focused on winning for the Zips.
-
I might be able to alter my old yard sign and change the year.
-
Tommy's mindset is not the same as Charlie's. That's the problem.
-
My first thought is only that we don't need Tommy thinking that he's legitimate NFL material right now. Whether he really is or not. After what's transpired over the last month or so, I'd much rather see him be far more focused on what it takes to deliver what the Zips need to be successful right now.
-
Huh? The Suckeyes just lost to Unranked Penn State. It doesn't look like WMU will lose again, so they will move up as far as the number of ranked teams above them lose enough to drop. I think 5 more weeks could be long enough for a volatile Top 25 to allow WMU to get to #10 or better. I really hope that it happens. I really want to see what happens to a MAC team in the national picture that wins a MAC title, goes unbeaten, and has two Big 10 wins on their resume.
-
I understand. I think that's a very fair response.
-
I'm getting tired of hearing "Why would we want to play WMU again"? I'm hoping that our team and coaches are DYING to earn the opportunity to play them again.
