Akron Zips v Kent State Golden Flashes: The MAC Championship
RooYahoo replied to NWAkron's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
Flat-footed D by Johnson. Can't defend. Time for Dambrot to move on. -
Same old Dambrot, Same old offense, Same old result. Now go to bed.
-
Congratulations Pat! Good luck. Hopefully they'll use you in a better role than Akron did.

This is all we know to be true.

KD has no control. Is that really the shot you want to take at the end of the game? That's on the coach. To me, it just goes to show how bad the MAC is and the competition in the MAC. Ohio State is really bad this year. Also, you can tell the difference in Big Ten to the MAC. Players are so much bigger and a lot stronger. Look for Buffalo to get bounced very early in the first round. Or I will eat crow! I hope that Keith Dambrot doesn't get on his horse and say this is a successful season because I see it as very disappointing. And is Pat even on the team anymore? Haven't heard any mention of him on any of the Zips shows or interviews and was not on the bench at any of the games. The kid plays four years there and nothing about his senior year??? -
I was out of town and unable to watch the Buffalo game. I don't think he was out-coached by a rookie Buffalo head coach, but just the mistakes KD made. I do have to laugh, I saw in an interview that he referred to Big Dog as LeBron James. I was thinking more LeBROWN DERBY but ok... Let's see how Coach D does against Ohio State tonight.

Dambrot coach of the year? This conference is so bad, Bowling Green, Miami O and Eastern Michigan advancing? Wow. Nice adjustment in the second half, coach! Still can't run an offense against a zone.- 124 replies

Don't forget setting screens, sealing your player, and I saw a lot of cheap shots underneath by Kent State last night. Thanks, Seniors!!
-
Oh my gosh, I didn't even look at it from that point. That is great. You're so right! Curse of the Zips!
-
Wonder why Pat's name isn't mentioned in Coach D's quotes? Confused.
-
I totally agree. All he does is set screens.
-
Not at his size.
-
So he had this injury and the coaching staff and medical staff knew about it, and yet, they kept putting him out there and logging heavy minutes for such a big guy with a sprain. Great decision making, especially when you have Pat and Kwan sitting on the bench. Was it really necessary to play him all these minutes, until he got healthy? Somethings gonna give when you are that big and injured. Great medical staff.

Again, Dambrot shows that he does not know how to do a rotation. The only reason they won this game was the heart of the team. He played the team's leading scorer, 3rd Team All-MAC, 13 minutes. By the way he was moving, dunks, warm-ups and defense, looks like no injury. Even though Forsythe played 13 minutes, he lead the Zips in scoring. Dambrot refuses to play this kid and run plays in the low post for him. The kid gets momentum, scores 5 points in the first half, then takes him out. Kretzer has done nothing, and he refuses to put Aaron Jackson in. Then you take your big man and switch him out for offense/defense when, obviously, Pat and Isaiah have advantage in the post. Can't State was in foul trouble and still refused to go low. Terrible coaching, terrible substitution rotations. Thank God this team covers up all the terrible coaching. If Forsythe stays out of foul trouble tonight, gets the start and plays 31 minutes, Zips win. He needs more than 6 shots in a game. Pound the ball inside! You're a MAC team with two good post players! Ridiculous!
-
Obviously, you haven't been paying attention. I said having Pat and Big Dog on the floor together would clog the lane. Big Dog could not switch, could not defend, but Dambrot keeps saying how athletic and what a great player. I don't see it. He was slow tonight. There was no chance for moves with them both in there. Mark my words, you will see four transfers, minimum, next year.

Keith Dambrot does not believe in Senior leadership. As you can tell from the meltdown by Noah, these freshmen have a lot of learning to do. Did anyone notice that Nyles Evans wasn't even on the sidelines for the second half? What happened there? Then the way Noah acted toward the trainer with his injury, I understand it's an injury... Then the coach playing Isaiah in major crunch time, which he is suspect to even be a D 1 player, hurt us on switches and rebounds. Pat taking just two attempts in the second half. Deji, one of our best players, not even on the court. I know I'm rattling, but it's a very frustrating loss. And now we go to Buffalo? This team has too much talent to be losing to the likes of Miami of Ohio at home. Terrible rotation by Dambrot. Sources tell me that Peters is sorely missed. We miss you, Dan!

Dave in Green you do a good job bringing in the facts. Thank you. It makes me feel better about my position and look forward to a run in the MAC tournament.
-
Can't imagine both on the floor at the same time. Not enough room to spread the floor. I honestly don't think Isaiah knows how to set a screen, and would Pat play the four then?
-
I totally agree about Noah Robotham. I've never seen a freshman able to take charge like that and make the shots. Love the way he runs the offense! Thanks, guys. See you all Tuesday!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ruO59YaRtI#t=208 Check out this link and the comment on the comparison of Pat and Isaiah. Good way to bring a player's confidence down when we all know last year he wasn't playing with any. Your take?

Does Dambrot know how to use two 6'11" guys

Thanks for the input. We'll just let it play out.
