I need a sun hat like JD's :thumb:
That definitely stood out to me as well. With skin cancer an increasing concern, I can certainly understand JD wearing one. But I do wonder what the "old school" coaches would do if they saw it :wall:
Bobby Bowden wears one all the time. I see The Old Ball Coach in one all the time on the news here. I'd love to have one myself.

Yeah, you'd never see one of those old school coaches in a goofy hat...Bobby_Bowden_with_shades_and_hat_gesturing.jpg001304122.jpgAnd the ugliest coaches hat of all time goes to --woody_hayes.jpg

Thanks, guys. I appreciate it. Most of the credit should go to Kadar. His idea.Anyhow, I think it was Dr. Z who mentioned sending me questions for Brookhart. By all means, send them to me via e-mail (mike_rasor@yahoo.com) or post comments on my blog, because they all show up in my e-mail, too. Also, if there are any players who you want to hear from, let me know. The only restriction is that Brookhart does not allow freshman who have not yet played to be interviewed.

Great idea Dan. Zip fans don't get a lot of coverage for the team. I love to hear the players speak. It builds some sort of relationship between the fan and the team. You also get to learn a little of the players personality. My question for JD:"Coach last year the offense looked for change of plays from the sideline, will that continue this year?"My suggestion for player interviews, throw in a non football question. Something that gets them to give you "loose" or fun answer.I can't wait until the next installment. Maybe give it a name too, 'Mike'n The Zips'

"Coach last year the offense looked for change of plays from the sideline, will that continue this year?"
I can take a guess... With the rule change from a 25-second play clock to a 40-second one, there's a lot less risk in doing it in a non-hostile environment. On the road in a loud stadium, the QB needs to be able to be a leader out there and make judgment calls in case communication with the sidelines is cut off by bad weather or a rowdy crowd.

OK, here's what you need to do. See if you can get a little tiny football field off to the side. Get a couple of us old guys from ZNO to come out in ties and dress slacks. We'll act like we're blocking and running a route and you' ll say something profound like "The QB throws the ball and someone on your team needs to catch the ball"

Let's get back to the hat. Where can one be purchased?
Ok, Ok, Slacks, Ties AND the hat. Does that work? No, but seriously, here's a few for the Players:What game are you most excited about this year? What moment from last season stands out?How did you prepare in the offseason? How was this different than in the past?Who has suprised you the most so far this year? What have the coaches emphasized this year when compared to last year? What do the fans do that really gets the players fired up?Who is the motor out there this year?Who is the commedian out there this year?Who is all buisness? In general, I think you can get candid answers out of the players more than the coaches. Coaches are more like politicians in that they are very good at avoiding the direct question and telling you the same old lines about how "we're working hard", "This is the best team yet", "Great Progress today", yada - yada - yada.

Who has surprised you the most so far this year?
I like this question. I would word it a little different. "Who is going to have a break-out year?"I'm not sure they do this on every MLB team, but I remember reading an article in April that thePirates players voted Nate McLouth "break-out" player of the year at the beginning of the season. Not that I follow the Pirates, but I had no idea who the dude was. I do now.

Rasor answered some questions on his blog from the "nation" today, you can check it out. Thanks for asking my question Rasor. A little disappointed in the answer. I hope I start to see the offense actually adjust and take advantage of the defensive alignment.Seems a little like putting the cart before the horse to me. Here's to hoping I'm wrong.Looking forward to the video interviews tonight.
