Ryno aka Menace
Just seen Zippy on an ESPN commercial. The commercial has Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings and it's about him having an assistant and Zippy is in the waiting room at the very end waiting to be seen. You can plainly see Fear the Roo!!Go Zips!!!
Blue & Gold
I saw that too! He's waiting patiently to see Adrian Peterson but Peterson's personal assistant tells him that, "He'll see you when he sees you." Zippy just sort of silently sighs. And yeah, you can plainly read FEAR THE ROO!

MDZip
You gotta think that last years Capital One Bowl competition might have had something to do with it. Pretty cool to be getting just a little bit more National notice.

Blue & Gold
You'd think someone on here would have caught wind of the commercial before it aired. What, is their production top secret, or do they whip a commercial like that together so fast that they may have just flown Zippy out there a day or two ago? I'm just surprised we didn't know a month or two ago that Zippy may or may not be in a new ESPN commercial.

Nah, somebody probably dropped the ball again. That is a fantastic Zippy sighting though!!
Dr Z
I wonder if ESPN approached Akron, or Akron approached ESPN? Did it have anything to do with winning mascot of the year?If anybody in marketing was responsible, congrats.Speaking of which, where is Zippy this year? MDZip
I also wonder if Cedrick Middleton's internship at ESPN might have had a little influence too? Can't someone get this nailed down on how Zippy ended up in a Vikings spot with absolutely no reason for her to be there? Of course that is also the beauty of those classic ESPN ads. timsum1283
perhaps Zippy is not in the running this time for Mascot of the Year because the Capital One Bowl team was intimidated by her undefeated record and assumed that she would win the next ten years in a row if still in the running

Of course that is also the beauty of those classic ESPN ads.Sorry to quote myself, but by absolutely random chance I happened to sit near Cedrick Middleton at the Ball State game Saturday so I said hello to him (he seemed like a very nice guy) and thanked him for the great season they had last year and then asked if he had anything to do with Zippy ending up in that ad. He said he didn't have any knowledge of it and had only even just heard about the ad. One theory down the drain.
ZachTheZip
Just saw it aired again on MNF. I had honestly forgotten about it.
#1 rowdy
This Ad is at least over a year old so I would have to think it was made while Zippy was at ESPN making the mascot of the year commercials.
