tbozeglav
I just got this message on Facebook in regards to the OSU/Akron game tuesday...This past weekend, the coaches and team of the Akron Zips soccer team attended the Oakland/Ohio State game. The coaches and team were being heckled by ohio state fans or "soccer hooligans"... all 100 of them. For those who don't understand this ... that is 100 soccer fans on Ohio State Michigan day. These fans screamed at the coaches that they are going to bring twice as many students to the Akron Ohio state game then the ROWDIES did. This was also mentioned by the players of OHIO STATE in a press conference as well. Recently on the OSTATE website... this was found."The Ohio State athletics department is looking into chartering buses to the game in Akron for fans to come support the Buckeyes. The only price is $8 for the general admission ticket to the game. For more information, please call the Ohio State ticket office at 800-GO-BUCKS."WE CANNOT ALLOW OSTATE TO DO THIS TO OUR HOUSE! THE AKRON TICKET OFFICE CAN CONFIRM AT LEAST TWO BUS LOADS from the Ostate ticket director. BE THERE THIS TUESDAY!!!! 7:30 PM!!!! LEE JACKSON FIELD!!! This is the 2nd round of the NCAA Tourney! YOU WANT A CHAMPIONSHIP AT AKRON!?!?! Then you DAMN WELL BETTER BE THERE TUESDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

RootforRoo44
got this message as well. The 8 dollars for tickets kind of sucks but im sure it will be ridiculously rowdy and belligerent tomorrow at the Jack for the game.I will be at least. And I'll put those suckeyes fans in their places.
tbozeglav
Sucks for those of you who have to pay $8... us rowdies get in free just by wearing our TShirts...Regardless, this is going to be a good game. Forecast is showing snow again, so we may have a bit of homefield advantage. I hope that we can pack those bleachers and the east hill with people. They played in some snow vs Oakland on Saturday and they wore hats and gloves. lol

That and the type of snow that falls up here is a lot different than that would fall down there. Up here we get lake effect snow and those snowflakes are at least 5x bigger than snow that might fall elsewhere. Get a lot of it falling at any given time (like during the MACC game last weekend) and it becomes harder to see things and starts accumulating on the ground. Not saying they sit at a nice 80 degrees during the winter, just that the weather conditions are entirely different up here.

ZachTheZip
Snow takes away Akron's style of play. I'm sure they learned a lot about how to play in blizzard conditions in the MAC championship, though.

johnnyzip84
Question for tonight's game: Is the chucking of a spherical collection of water crystals, in the general vicinity of the opposition, considered to be a breach of soccer etiquette? ctmjbowes@sbcglobal.net
I'm not a huge soccer guy in general, but I'll be there tonight and am looking forward to it like crazy. Captain Kangaroo
Is it snowing as bad in Akron as it is in Twinsburg? Can they hold a match in a blizzard?
ZachTheZip
Is it snowing as bad in Akron as it is in Twinsburg? Can they hold a match in a blizzard?Yes, and Yes. If you can see across the street, you're doing better than it is on campus. The MAC championship was played in whiteout conditions, which gives Akron a little bit of an advantage because OSU hasn't played in a major snowstorm before while Akron has. GoZips88
tosu soccer team bus was parked behind Max & Erma's in the Wal-mart parking lot in Montrose this afternoon. The driver had the engine compartment door open and had already finished pouring 5 quarts of oil into the engine and was checking the mile-long dipstick to see if he needed to pour any (all?) of the second jug of oil he had at the ready. Here's hoping the osu futballers leak some oil tonight too! GO ZIPS!
ZachTheZip
Will the rowdies be signing up students at the game? I have a few friends that want to go but haven't signed up yet.According to the Facebook messages, there will be sign-ups at the student gate for $10. Rowdies get in to the NCAA tournament for free, but non-Rowdy students pay $5 for a ticket.
