Is everybody still asleep from too much tryptophan? WAKE UP and discuss:1) JD-will he be back?2) Zips D-could we save scholarship money by not fielding a D at all?3) Zips O-did Jacq regress to the point of having to compete for the starting job next Spring?4) InfoSumma-how freaking cool will it be to walk up to the BRAND NEW gates at the first game? 5) Who is your overall team MVP?6) Who is your Yugo Underperformer of the year? For me:1) Yes, albeit with a decent D or we will all rise up against him.2) Tempting to think yes to this one. Can we now switch the unending Bain questions back on?3) Jacq should definitely compete against Rogers for the job next year. He was MUCH better this year, but I want to see less "Bad Jacq", or "Jacq Off" before I'll really love the guy.4) I can NOT wait to see the new facility, and to see the team run onto the field next year. I may become verklempt for a moment.5) Overall team MVP may be Lemon. I'll check back in later for my final call on this one.6) B. Williams, who did not earn full-on game changer status that I thought he might.GO ZIPS! Crush the Big 11 MildKitties tomorrow!SeeTeeZip

1) I don't know. I don't want him to be here when the new stadium opens up, but we'll just have to see. 2) JUST DITCH THE 3-3-5 or whatever we play. It stops nothing. 3) I thought it real interesting that in pre-game last week before the Pussycats that JD said that Jacq was our for sure QB for next season. I think you have to give Matt Rogers his shot, especially since Jacq has had his many shots and mostly blown them. 4) All I have to say is: NO MORE POLES! 5) I think Dennis Kennedy is my MVP. He's been the most consistent and in my definition of MVP (the person who means the most to the team), DK certainly has meant the most to the Zips. 6) My underperformer(s) is Bowser, the defense, the coaching staff, and Jacq in key situations. Well can't wait for the pole-less INFO next year, and hopefully the start of a new beginning.

1) JD will be back, but if the season starts off poorly he may get canned half-way through it.2) I believe Bain will play next year, and I also HOPE he'll be playing for a new position coach AND coordinator.3) I know that Jacq played much better than expected, but I still hope Rodgers gets bigger, stronger, and more accurate in the off-season, enough to beat out CJ in the spring. In the very little we got to see of Rodgers , he was much more of a run threat and I think that in itself is a major plus for him. I mean if Matt was truly right behind CJ coming out of last spring (per JD himself), I'll take my chances with him and his dual threat abilities. Once again (as in Getsy's SR year) we didn't get NEARLY enough snaps for our backup QB this year.4) The Info will be one of those few things in life in which the reality of it will even exceed our considerable expectations.5) MVP has to be the offensive line. Without a decent O-Line, we would have had 1 or 2 wins.6) BWill and DWill are tied in this category IMO.

We will never win anything with JD as the coach. I have lost all faith and confidence in the guy.He and his team never learn from past failures. It is time for a change.

why would i care about a football program that chokes and blows a great opportunity? I'll care more in a few months when the stadium starts to come together a little more. Then i will be a bit more excited for next year. Plus there are plenty of other Zips sports to care about. For one the soccer team is doing something special, the basketball team is as always being steered in the right direction by a great coach, and i personally have just started a club baseball team at Akron. After holding tryouts for that last month and now officially existing as a club, I am looking to do more along the lines of what KD does rather than what JD does.

How does your club baseball team differ from our varsity one? Why have a club team? Can you play intramurals? As for this thread, I by no means want JD to lose his job. But based on the philosophy that I use to run a successful busines, i.e. past performance is the greatest single predictor of future success, J. D. has not earned the right to continue as coach. Let him go. :(

Honestly, I wasn't very excited going into the season. The excitement was slowly building, however, as the Zips were competitive against BSU and narrowly lost to Cincinnati. After BGSU, the only thing that kept me intersted was the chance we may win the East. When we blew it against Buffalo, that pretty much did it for me. 1) It is no secret that I think JD sees Akron as a stepping stone and nothing more. With that said, I think the AD will bring JD back...but next year is his make or break year. We must be in the MACC and go to a bowl, period. We are all aware we could have been 10-2 this year or we could have been 3-9. No more excuses next year.2) I think we'll be better on D next year, but ditch the 3-3-5.3) Rogers should at least be given a shot to start next year. I think he will, but JD is simply being PC. 4) I will be very, very stoked to walk through those gates on gameday. What I hope and pray for is that the opening ceremonies aren't as bush league as the closing ceremonies for the RB. If we put this much money into a new stadium, we better act Big Time!5) Kennedy, no question. He's the man! I just hope the fumbles against Buffalo don't haunt him.6) Bruce. That guy couldn't catch anything. Bowser at least made a few very difficult and critical catches. BW is probably second but at least a few of his hits made me smile.

It's funny that you say this about the football team and then in the next paragraph you say what a great job KD is doing and this very sentence could EASILY apply to him with the word basketball replacing football.
