wow, harsh comments about us stealing and targeting recruits from teams with coaching changes.
Where?

They stole 4-star safety Jermaine Robinson from Toledo too. Of course Robinson is not the best student and it could be that he didn't like it when new UT coach Tim Beckman told him all Toledo football players will be sitting in the first two rows of all of their classes from now on. Finally Toledo has a coach that wants discipline and academics to be a part of the program. I've also heard that Brandt is having a little trouble in the classroom, so he probably fits in Akron's class better than Miami's. Who knows if he would have ever qualified at Miami.
It looks like Zipmeister was smelling something after all when he made his "backhanded compliment" comment on the Robinson thread.

...as if Miami of Ohio were akin to an Ivy! I've found Miami alumni to be some of the worst college snobs out there. Here's a news flush Miami alum: Nobody other than your Mommy cares where you went to school 20 years ago. When it comes to "stealing" recruits, all's fair in love, war and football recruiting. Stop your crying, Miami bitches.GO ZIPS!

You're naturally going to have an emotional reaction like that.No big deal. They obviously acknowledge the most likely reason for it (coaching change) but they still call it "stealing".So they have a handle on it intellectually but just cant deal with it emotionally. To be expected

You can get your digs in now. I'll smile later.
If you want to participate on our board, you are welcome. There's one simple rule to follow - don't be a douche.I appreciate your insights on recruiting, but if you're going to slight UA's programs, academics...whatever...here, or on other MAC boards...your welcome wears out.

I don't believe I "slighted" Akron's program, academics, etc. Akron has had the same problem that Toledo has had the last several years. We both have brought in some great recruits and have seen some of them not make it to campus and others not leave because of academics and discipline, and so forth. I am happy for Toledo that Coach Beckman is very big on academics and discipline and has told all the players what he is expecting. Hopefully that will finally change for Toledo. There is no question that Jermaine has had academic issues. He signed with Toledo last year, but couldn't get qualified so he went to a prep school. Though he is doing better, he's not a solid academic student. That is fact, no matter where he goes to school.......Akron, Toledo, Nebraska, USC, etc. That said, both UT and Akron have won big-time on guys they have brought in that have worked out. Chester Taylor is one example at Toledo. He did not qualify as a freshman, but graduated on time and is not making millions in the NFL.The jury is still out on Jermaine Robinson. You know?

Your criteria for success seems a bit convoluted to me, but based on it we are just as successful, if not more so, than Toledo. We have scores of former fball players not making millions in the NFL.

Toledo has scores of former players NOT making millions in the NFL too.....not sure what you are trying to say.I was not trying to say Toledo was more successful than Akron though. Not at all. I just gave one example of how someone with academic issues can work out. It happens anywhere, not just Toledo. My point with that example is to contradict, if you will, my "bashing" of Toledo and Akron for taking so many academic question mark players in the past that don't make it.

He was just joking with you, because in your previous post regarding Chester Taylor, you wrote that Chester is "not" making millions of $$$ in the NFL when you clearly intended to write that Chester Tayler is "now" making millions of $$$ in the league.I'll bet we have more former players not making millions in the NFL than Toledo has not making millions in the NFL!
