Razor, hits the nail on the head. :thumb: Picture a four-man defensive front of Almondo Sewell, Ryan Bain, Henderson and Shawn Lemon. That is a phenomenal line, even for a high-level BCS team. Then consider the gobs of depth behind those four. My point is, it would be a fireable offense for J.D. Brookhart to maintain the 3-man defensive line with that kind of personnel.Agree 1000 percent.I bet the LB's and DB's look good then. They might even have a chance to become "play makers"

I wonder if we will try to grayshirt several kids. With all of the coaching changes, it seems like we may get even a couple more kids to land our way. With 17 slots, we are almost full now and we usually get 2-3 kids at the end who have high profile backgrounds. It is unfortunate that we did not have the normal 22-25 to give this year. But I agree, that front line would be something.

Yes. Most of you "difference makers"are looking for grayshirt opportunities.

Excuse my ignorance, but does a greyshirt practice/play in spring drills?

Yes. A grey shirt comes in during the spring had has full eligibility for spring practice. It's a huge advantage if you ask me for any incoming guy and saves a year of eligibility.

I don't think I like the grayshirt idea. Telling a kid "don't worry about a full complement of classes" for a year then expecting success both on and off the field the next doesn't jive with me.
It allows them to ready themselves for a college work load while getting early practice time with the team. Nothing but benefits if you ask me...

UA offered Eugene Jarvis a Grayshirt. K.e.n.t. offered him a scholarship...and he went to K.e.n.t. Grayshirting is fine, but you run the risk of losing the recruit if someone offers him a scholarship from the get-go.
