Hey Zips Nation. Unbelievable how quickly the past 4 years have gone. It seems like we were just in Puerto Rico for Nate's Freshman pre-season tournament, and now it's Senior Night. The years here at UA could not have been better and you and the Akron community have confirmed what we thought from the day Nate signed, that Akron is a class act, surrounded by top rate people. Farewell and thanks to Nate... A guy who reminded me of a former player by the name of Jackubic. Nate- with the wild (now tamed hair), unorthodox shot, and never ending support. To the opposition what a pest he has been. He was out there with swollen shut eye, broken fingers, stitches, always sacrificing for the team. Not the most skilled kid but one without whom these 20win seasons would be just a fantasy. Lets keep this season going for Nate's sake at least through saturday the 14th.

We'll miss him a lot next year, thanks to him for four years of hard nosed play. Good luck to him in whatever he does after this and how about going out with a bang? - reach that 1,000 point plateau with a MAC Championship!

Thanks so much for checking in. Message boards can be tough for player's parents. If you've enjoyed the passion that Zips fans have for the Program, that's awesome. Nate's a great kid. As far as "leaving it all on the court" goes, I don't think he cheated himself out of 1 second of his playing time @ UA. No fan could ever say he gave less than 100%...most would say more.Hope he gets a ring next week. He deserves it!

Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Linhart for raising such a great person and also thank you Nate for being a ZIP. Even though it is going to be real tough, I am definitely going to make the 2.5 hour drive on a work night to give Nate one last standing ovation at the JAR. That's the least we can do to thank our MVP.Hopefully, he will get some more at the Q next week

Nate's a great kid. As far as "leaving it all on the court" goes, I don't think he cheated himself out of 1 second of his playing time @ UA. No fan could ever say he gave less than 100%...most would say more.

Tenacious and a great guy off of the court as well. Always polite and willing to take the time for a little conversation. Love the relationship that he and the Rowdies developed over the years. Nate has been a pleasure to watch. He's got a high basketball IQ and always seems to be in the right place at the right time. CK said it best about Nate's hustle: 100%. Infofan mentioned that without Nate we would yet to have a 20-win season. Couldn't be more true. Nate has been at the core of this team for years. He will truly be missed on the court next season, but he'll always be a member of the Zips family!My favorite Nate moment: last year's last-second, follow-up tip-in to beat OU! Priceless! Nate will remember that the rest of his life! So will I.

Thanks for all of the great memories! Nate's hard work really shows and is what sets him apart. message boards can be tough for most players' parents. Parents of a guy like Nate though? Nah, they are just fine because i cant remember a time when anyone ever knocked on Nate. He plays full go all the time and is probably the perfect college basketball player in terms of a rolemodel on the court.

I wanted to say when this thread was started how badly I wanted to see Nate have an opportunity to play in the NCAA tournament. But I held back, not wanting to put a jinx on the Zips' chances. Now that Nate has led the Zips to their well-deserved MAC championship and been named MVP of the MAC tournament, I'm thinking there's nothing I could have said to jinx this team. They're beyond jinxing.And Nate is the leader, by his deeds and the example he sets for everyone else. No one gives more of himself on the floor than Nate Linhart. He is an inspiration to us all. Whatever he goes on to do for the rest of his life, he will be a leader by example who will positively impact the lives of those around him. I have the utmost respect for Nate and his family.
