Captain Kangaroo Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 Could the legendary UA name "Marcel"...errr...Marsell return to UA Basketball? Quote
zippy5 Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 eh I played against him. Transferred schools three times, biggest ball hog in Mercer County PA. I'll pass. Not a KD type player, that's for sure. Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted March 11, 2009 Author Report Posted March 11, 2009 Nice to see Farrell still doing well! Former Zips forward Sean Roberts' alma mater. Quote
Quickzips Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 Here's my question. The article says that Holden is currently a senior. Are we looking at him as a potential walk-on? Do we have another scholly out there I am not aware of? Is there a problem coming up with getting Conyers his year back? Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted April 28, 2009 Author Report Posted April 28, 2009 From the recently held Roundball Classic -* I did not see the AA - A game, but Farrell's Marsell Holden must have been something to watch. He scored 32. He became Farrell's all-time leading scorer this year. Quote
Quickzips Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 You can never underestimate the power of having a sharpshooting 3-point shooter on the floor. This team struggled at times from the 3-point line last year and a guy like Holden could certainly help out. The big question I have is do we really have room on our team for another sub-6'0" guard? Dave in Green Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 My question would be how Holden compares to Brett McClanahan, who had a similar high school 3-point shooting reputation. Holden would have to be a better overall player than the 6-4 McClanahan to overcome the obvious height disadvantage. Sub-6-foot shooting guards are fairly rare at the D1 level. Quote
