Class of 82 Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 Rivals has 4-star DT Chris Henderson committed with a signed LOI, but he's not on the Captain's list.Does anyone know if he's actually coming?Sure hope so. Having him, Bain and Tonga would be a massive upgrade to our D-line depth. Quote

Having him, Bain and Tonga would be a massive upgrade to our D-line depth.Great question 82. Another question is does anyone know how Bain is faring with his back problems? There has been very litlle talk about that from the coaching staff and that always raises the level of concern. Perhaps it is only a temporary setback, but I'd sure like to hear from one of our Zipsnation unimpeachable sources (a guy in a bar who is first cousin to the landscaper who cuts JD's grass) that he is 100% healthy. Until that time I will sleep like a baby at night ....... waking up screaming every 2 hours. We need this Fall to a huge success for football. Like track we want football to be Quote

We need this Fall to a huge success for football. Don't lose any sleep, bro! It wouldn't be a Zips off-season without at least one guy we were counting on to make a big splash ending up in-eligible, in-cognito, in-jured or other wise in something other than a Zips uniform. Here's hoping for a drama-free summer.Go Zips! ZachTheZip Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 Henderson was the guy that we're taking a chance with in hopes of a big payoff. High risk/reward. I'm hoping that he pays off.Only two true freshmen are listed on the roster: Will Fleming and Joe Pachuta, who I think were both greyshirts last year. Quote

And there's nothing at gozips on the 2009 recruiting class, which for some reason makes me a little nervous. I remember they had a piece up in February, but it's no longer there.Sincerely your paranoid friend,Class of '82  Quote
ZachTheZip Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 Media Release for 2009 signing class.Coach Brookhart's press conferenceHe's listed there as having signed his LOI. I can't find anything about him qualifying or not, though. Quote

I still expect to see him in '09. I don't think his parents paid $15k for a prep school just to have him be a non-qualifier.We'll know soon enough... Quote

Zipmeister Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 He would have been good, the guy known as Bain, if not for that back always causing him pain.My prognostication made with stiff upper lip,Odds he ever plays a down for us between fat chance and zip. Quote
72 Roo Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 So why is it no one is commenting about Bain? Is it that bad of news? Even the posters on ZipsNation who are close to the program aren't offering any encouragement. I do appreciate the poetry though. This is such a cultured board. Quote

No news is good news, I guess? maybe we're just tired of having the same exact conversation every year, just about a different player. What ever happened to David Harvey? Quote
