Zipsrifle
Can someone who is a lawyer decipher the alcohol policy for me? It says something about UA not having the authority to give permission for consumption bla, bla, bla, no open containers, bla, bla, bla. Sounds to me that there is no drinking!!!!! tbozeglav
I can tell you first-hand that the cops will be enforcing a "cant see, won't ask" policy... meaning, if you have plastic cups, theres a very high chance they won't care what it is you're consuming (as long as youre not making an a$$ of yourself). However, it you have cans, bottles, or any other items that have direct connotations to the consumption of alcohol, the cops will come by and make sure nobody there is underage or piss drunk. For those who are wondering, here's a direct link the UA's Tailgating info page:http://www.gozips.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_...TCLID=204775851http://www.gozips.com//pdf4/633143.pdf?DB_OEM_ID=10800Some thoughts...They mention in the tailgating section that you cannot have things that impede the flow of pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the lots... which is understandable... but go on to say you cannot put tailgating equipment in vacant spots? Call me an idiot if you wish, but if you can put your stuff in the area between the rows of parking spaces and you cant put it in the spot next to you, where are you going to put it? It will be very interesting to see how the University Police handle the crowds. It will also be interesting how fans behave given this new chance to shine

I would assume the area between the rows is the place for everything, but wouldnt that be impeding vehicle traffic? Im only curious to what they are "defining" as the acceptable area... zippyrifle32
with $5 parking and my $115 student parking pass now invalid. I might as well just hop on the city bus and get off on exchange st by the stadium... or would there be a way to sneak into a regular lot. And what about those Friday games where tailgaters and students will clash? I mean there are Friday night classes and students will be pissed enough if their regular lot is closed, but then to be charged $5 anywhere they try to park? This should be interesting... Dr Z
Morgan State and Indiana Ticket PolicyIn addition to their ZipCard, students must pick up a game ticket prior to the day of the game. On game day, students must present both their ZipCard and the game ticket. Tickets may be picked up at the following locations for the Morgan State game.Back when I went to school, you just showed your ID to get in, was it the same last year? What is the student capacity at the Info? I'm concerned the first game at the Info, and you are making it difficult for students to get into the game by adding an extra step. Why wouldn't you make it first come first serve till you hit capacity? With that policy, if you are a student and decide the day of the game that you want to go to either of these games and didn't get a ticket ahead of time, you have to buy a ticket to get in? Seems like somebody is anticipating a problem that might not even exist, and may actually deter students from attending by making them jump through an extra hoop. I don't have my finger on the pulse of campus anymore, so maybe somebody has researched student interest and knows it was necessary, but I would surely hope the student section is 90 to 100 percent full with this policy or somebody is making a mistake IMO. We would walk to the JAR after class to watch the game only to be turned away because the 500 student tickets had been issued. We were told to either buy tickets or leave. I found that to be bad business because it was nearly halftime. Nobody would have showed up to buy tickets at that point in the game. I imaging they will treat students the same for football. get them now or don't get them at all.
ZachTheZip
Student capacity is 5,500, and if we sell out even more because they'll open up the endzone hill.Hopefully the students that post here can try to spread the word about needing a student ticket. zippy5
eh the ticket policy works just fine for the Can't bball game. that doesn't scare anyone away. be thankful, most other schools with a stadium like this probably charge you 200 bucks for your season tickets. ksu sucks
There is a great buzz on campus about the new stadium. I think everything will be fine for the first few games.I still think the university might be wise to put some sort of large sign/poster up in the middle of campus(coleman commons?). If I've learned anything in my short time at UA it's that the students won't go look for information themselves, you have to force it on them. Without enough awareness I guarantee tons of kids are turned away from the gates on gameday. I doubt many students even read the weekly online newsletter(so that wouldn't be enough either). In other words, students know there is a new stadium, and most want to go, but they won't do any investigating. They'll probably feel it's like the Rubber Bowl days where all you need is some free time and your zip card.
zippy5
I think a better idea is just letting the first 5500 in. but the ticket policy should work just fine.

If 5500 tix aren't picked up, they can sell them since UA is expecting a sellout for game 1 and a sell out for a big11 team.

RACER
i don't think people realize how important security will be at the new stadium.especially underage drinking.what about selling beer in the new stadium? has thier been any word.a few years back at central florida footballgame a person was shot, and killed.i don't rememeber all the detials, but i think a cop shot an undercover cop.you are going to have alott of students underage drinking, and that usally leads to trouble.i just hope the univeristy has a seurity plan, and plenty of police. ZachTheZip
RACER, there's no beer sold at the stadium, except in the luxury boxes. So no underage drinking, or even overage drinking for that matter.
