Aaron
There were posts a while ago about the Barley House being the next official watch party location. Does anyone have details about the PSU game this Saturday?
ZachTheZip
I heard something about it being at the Tap House (formerly Scorchers on Waterloo).

bUAkronG
I don't know about you, but the OBC was and will still be my "official watch party." Eff the Barley House.I was wondering if there was a specific reason for the watch party not being there.I am not sure if I'll make it to OBC. If I do end up going to any watch parties, it will be there though.

If I do end up going to any watch parties, it will be there though. When I was hearing Barley house earlier, I'm fairly certain it was because of an expectation that OBC would not be open. Since it is now obvious that OBC will be open (and staying open throughout the season, minus one week possibly), will things be there similar to last year? I loved bringing out the family, getting stuffed on 1/2 price appetizers and beer/sodas and watching the game with other loyal supporters. The games, giveaways, and commentary during the commercials was nice as well.

I'll be at the combo of OBC/Barley House. Hopefully a good showing at OBC...I could use some tasty beers.

ZippyTuba11
Scorchers would have been a great place if we were still at the Rubber Bowl, but with the new stadium, I have no desire to go to that part of Akron. I would be really disappointed if the party isn't at OBC. The Barely House would be the worst. You know they would be wearing OSU gear during OUR game :rolleyes:EDIT: I know OBC has a lot of support from ZN.o. How about making OBC the official Zipsnation party? RootforRoo44
Screw Barley House and their OSU supporting waitresses/bartenders. I root for the ZIPS and i'll be at the OBC drinking AKRON beer with AKRON fans.
UA Fan
Can't get to Happy Valley nor Akron. ZipsZone not carrying video. I may have to add Big Ten Network to my cable subscription, or try to find a pub that has it. Not sure from game to game if 1350 will have the Frenchie audio or not...are they advertising it? Probably can get the PSU broadcast on my Sirius/XM which is fun for only as long as we're winning and their announcers are worried.Speaking of ZipsZone, looks like they will be video-broadcasting all the games that aren't on ESPNx/BTN, including Morgan, Ohio & Can't at home plus @CMU & @Buffalo. I don't see anything on Syracuse yet. I'm still curious whether they'll have any closed-circuit TV's in the Info (loges, concourses, etc.) or around campus...that would feel bigtime. Screw Barley House until they realize what city they're smack-dab in the middle of!!!Sounds like OBC is the place to be! You can count on me being there w a small crew.Go zips! johnnyzip84
I spent some time at Ohio Brewing Company last night, and I tried to get a few answers to some of the questions that have been raised here recently. First and most importantly, we're going to have to find another "unofficial" home for a watch party this Saturday as OBC does not currently receive the Big 10 network I know.......I'm pretty disappointed about it and I will lobby as best as I can for them to get it back after their move down the street. As far as the move itself goes, they are to be out of the current building by the end of September. They will be bottling beer fairly soon after the move from the new production facility (which is going to be on or near Selle Street between High and Main). The brewpub as mentioned before will be across from Canal Park.Dr. Z I asked about Abbey Ales and Hefeweizens and I was told that they will have a Trappist Ale out very soon sfter the move. A Hefeweizen is also in their plans but probably not until sometime next year. Also, I checked on the tailgate area at Katherine Place/Exchange they are hosting for home games. It will be up and running from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm!!!!I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the last thing anyone of us wanted was to show up at OBC with no game to watch. That old Scorcher's location seems odd to me as a place for a watch party. Are there any other ideas out there? We have to keep in mind that not all establishments carry the Big 10 network, although I'm sure most of them do by now.
tbozeglav
I had the feeling that the reason the AK-Rowdies made the announcement that the watch party was going to be at Scorchers was because OBC didn't have the B-10 network. Its a shame, so hopefully their new location will have it.
